This summer I went to Philmont, Expedition 701-C. Best trip of my life. I was 13 and my parents couldn't come, but being with my patrol felt like family.
@TheBoyscout13 I am going with another crew, they had a spot open for me ( limit is 12)...BUT just ask around differet troops,they will most likely take you.
What's with all the female staffers? We would have loved that back then...........more fun :) Call me a chauvanist, but the thought of girls out there just isn't the same since it's a BOY scout camp. (I know I'll get hate mail for saying that)
I loved my time working at Philmont in 82/83, but the nerdy uniforms could go. Cimarron is a nasty litte town that I had to go to High School in...........a lot of good history, but outside of friends at Philmont, I would never go back.
I went to philont with lyme's disease hiked aprox. 90 miles in 10 days did this 3 summer's ago 15 years old. i hiked mainly in the northern country. I have gotten the tripple crown now I'm the youngest of the three to first recieve the tripple crown in my troop. I have to say that Philmont is the most challenging of the three high adventures. our trail guide kyle said that we were great except for the bad gas
Where was this ranch 50 years ago when I was a boy ! I tried to join a local troop at the time but no one ever showed up at our local scout house.I'm into equines,I ride a mammoth donkey and I shoot black powder rifles too.This ranch is marvelous!!
has anyone worked as a Commonsary clerk at Phillips Junction :)

Cimmaroncito camp, or what ever one it is with the rock climbing, our troop (43) was the only troop patrol to beat them at volleyball :D

Philmont is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are in scouts, you NEED to go to Philmont. You will have one of the best times of your life!!
