I despised this movie. They need to remake and make it faithful to the books the way the Harry Potter movies were. I don't even know why the writers made the changes. Because of that the movie was critically panned and bombed at the box office. So we can rest assured that there won't be a shitty sequal to blacken the name of Darren Shan.

This movie is pure crap. First off. It was steven who went on the stage alone when everyone left because he wanted to become a vampire. Then steve got bit by maddam octa because darren stole her. Then steve is paralyzed, so darren had to become a half-human half-vampire to save steve because the vampire ahd the antidote. Darren then faked his death so he can live with the undead. So pretty much i never saw this movie. I just finished the 1st book 2 hours ago *i thought it was amazing*.

I love this movie, and I know in the preview he says he wants to become a vampire and yada yada yada. But in the actual movie they follow the story line :)

OK SOO... i read every single one of the cirque du freak books when i was a kid, and there has never been a book series that i have enjoyed more. HOWEVER, i never even SAW the movie, and i can tell from this preview that it was shitty and too immature. If they made this film into something like harry potter (not saying im a harry potter fan), serious and extremely exciting, it would have been so much better. again i can tell simply from this preview and reviews the movie sucked.

Ok first off, he doesn't say "Darren, wanna become a vampire?" Steve gets bitten by Madam Octa and Mr. Crepsley will only save steve if darren becomes his assistant. Did they READ the books? I hope the next movie is better..

Great movie at first but after I read the series then did i realize how crappy it was compared to the book..I definitely recommend the book over the movie:)

why is it called vampire asistant that was the 2nd book there was never a monky girl darren, steve and evra were in like elementery school not high schoolers darren got the flyer from his friend or when going home from steves house depending on if your getting it from the comic or the book not a guy driving past him in a car the person that can grow there limbs back after cutting them off was a guy and more i might be mixing the book and comic together sence i read both though

@anime2freak12 I totally agree with you. The movie was a horrible outline of the book. Im guessing the called the movie: The Vampires Assistant - because it would attract their target market more, especially with the earlier movie twilight. It's a more relative name.

I can honestly say that this movie sucked! It was nothin like the books. I wish they'd do a better version. With an actual Debbie and that they follow the order of events correctly. I mean Steve doesn't come up again until book 8!

This movie is pure crap. First off. It was steven who went on the stage alone when everyone left because he wanted to become a vampire. Then steve got bit by maddam octa because darren stole her. Then steve is paralyzed, so darren had to become a half-human half-vampire to save steve because the vampire ahd the antidote. Darren then faked his death so he can live with the undead. So pretty much i never saw this movie. I just finished the 1st book 2 hours ago *i thought it was amazing*.

this movie is a great one, just perfect beatiful colors and much of good humor and a great storyline i have read 4 books of the 13 or something and the movie is good also, so to everyone that hates the movie, and with there stupid complines GO FUCK YOURSELFS IT IS A GREAT MOVIE and the only thing that sucks on the movie ARE PEOPLE WITH BAD comments, so 1 thing for al of you bad comment guy's don't look to the new movies AND GO FUCK YOURSELFS LOUZERS

no kidding, even the poster looked bad. and you can find 'Reception for the film has been mixed. It currently holds a 37% Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes' words if you surf it at wikipedia.you should feel ashame of saying that. you can't blame these people, they ave the right to judge if the film is good or not, and the result there are more negatives than the positives,i feel sorry 4 u.

I am so pissed. If anyone has finished te whole series, like I did they should be pissed too. The books are amazing, and they made it into a Childs movie. The series should have been at least pg-13 , and the cast was a joke.
