I called them to set up a service call. They told me between 8AM-12PM Thursday. That morning while I was in the shower 7:32 AM the tech called with a blocked number, Caller ID said "Out of Area".... When I checked my message the tech said "This is Mediacom service tech, Since you did not answer we will have to reschedule your service, Call customer service"...I called them and they said I have to wait another week. Not my fault I was in the shower before 8AM.....Fuckerz!
dont schedule an apointment if u are not going to be ready and why would they call un blocked so u can call them back at 2 in the morning i wouldnt want that cry cry u missed it

Internet is slow and unstable. I have never been able to reach advertised speeds. Sometimes its fast, sometimes its slow, and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Phone goes down whenever internet is down. TV signal quality is the worst I have ever seen. DVR has been replaced 4 times in 3 years, modem has been replaced 3 times, tv remote has been replaced 12 times, wireless signal is unreliable. DONT GO WITH MEDIACOM!
You commented on your own video? Their call centers have the same peak times that retail stores and other businesses do. Seems everyone works 9 to 5 as most wait till the evening to call in. They are open 24 hours and take you one at a time, so call when everyone goes to bed and you'll get right through.

After 40+ phone calls, and a few nasty ones at that, Mediacom finally decided after 2 months of this to actually come out and check the wires and see if there is an issue in the line. They are supposed to be out tomorrow. We'll see if they resolve their issue.

As if being down on August 14,2007 wasn't enough, I woke up this morning, ready to start work again and it was down AGAIN..I called tech support and I got the automated message that they were down and the biggest area affected was Georgia.
I had Road Runner in another state before I moved to this small town and I had NEVER had outages and if I did, it was only for five minutes. Mediacom is notorious for outages and I am stuck basically, because there is a monopoly and I have no other ISP to use.
I asked him what the heck he meant to have my modem serviced and just like their usual fashion, they tell you the service isn't down, it's just something wrong with your modem. What incompetent liars! I have had this happen to me on 5 occassions in the past 1.5 years I've had their service. Tech support is basically brain dead....continued...

I tried every hour for at least 8 hours and all I got were busy signals. I finally on hour ten got an idiot by the name of DEREK who had an attitude and said that there were NO service outages! WTH? He basically told me it's my fault because I had not had my "modem serviced".... to be continued...
I don't know what the hell cable/Internet provider these people have, but I say BRAVO TO YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. I have Internet service with them and every 2 months they have MAJOR outages that last up to 8 hours. Yesterday on August 14, 2007, was the worst one ever the Internet was down for over TWELVE HOURS. I work at home doing medical transcription and my job is essential to having high speed internet connection.

I switched from Mediacom to DirecTV and Qwest DSL. It costs more. I don't know what the avg hold time is because in almost a year I haven't needed to call. DirecTV only went out 2 times for about 10 min. in bad weather.
I guess these responses really weren't what you expected, or wanted. But just a bit of logic here. There is not a single company that has 100% customer satisfaction and reliability of service. even if a company has 95% customer satisfaction there is 5% of the customer base that are unsatisfied. When we're talking thousands of subscribers that 5% turns out to be a lot of people, but only a small part of the whole. Unfortunately someone has to be part of that 5%.
Mediacom happens to be a pretty good company. Can you name one company where you don't have a problem getting through to when you call? The service is great and the employees are even greater.
I understand your frustration, but if Cable America or Sudden Link were serving your area, you'd be even more pissed off. And the dish companies, they don't give a damn either. The only call I've had to make was to have my drop replaced in the ice storm. FYI-red font on tv is a big NO-NO.
