I tried another way of doing this. It used a cut up wire hanger to make an X and I used one of those rectangle logstarters for a fuel source...and a trash bag. I tried several times but...never got it off the ground. Came close though.Whats the deal with that? Does it need to be cold outside?
It's not as easy as it looks. You need the right material. It must be light weight. We use drinking straws instead of heavy coat hangers. Dry cleaning bag is very thin and light weight. Even the candles don't weigh all that much. A cool evening is best as well.

I made one of these in 1968, It did fly. Now thinking of the fact that I lived southern California, It was a dumb thing to do. I was ten at the time. There were plans in a magizine that I followed.
