This version comes across to me as a little aggressive. The 'wait, they dont love you like I love you' is sang in a way that if someone was saying that to me I would be intimated. Whereas with the original, its a different kind of desperation in that line. Like they feel so drained that all they can manage is to...not whisper, but cant raise their voice about it.
