Correction....don't you mean finding the nth term= a+(n-1)xd
For example, find the 18th term of the geometric sequence: 2, 5, 8, 11,.......
a=2
d=3
n=18
and you would substitute the values into the formula...because I dont remember doing this sort of method at As Level Maths.....
