@MrJeffkeuh It shows black but it really is transparent. You can see it by toggling the transparency button near the Resolution button.

@djunk666 You should, it comes pre-installed with After Effects. Try using hue&saturation or brightness&contrast.

I am following your tutorial and I noticed when you zoomed in on the text (once you finished the text work) your text was clean and sharp. When I zoomed into mine it was blocky and horrible. Why is this happening? Great tuts. BTW! you rock brotha!

@wmitzlaff Because I'm 25% zoomed out already, so when I zoom in, it's still crisp because again, it's only at 50% and 100% is the actual size. But if you're at 100% and you zoom into 225%, you're actually stretching the preview image and such (: Btw, thank you!

@Termi6332 If you have no solid layer as a background then it's transparent. By default, AE shows your transparency as BLACK. Hit the transparency button under the preview panel to actually see it as transparent. Be sure to render as a MOV Animation codec to actually get the transparency

@OisinRalph When you create a composition, it's automatically transparent, but it SEEMS like black because AE does this to let you see finer details. You can toggle the transparency view under the preview panel. (the checkerboard icon)

Just cause you see black in the preview window doesnt mean its not transparent. click the "show transparency" icon. You obviously need more experience in the basics of AE

@BrandonAkaZodiac The project is probably just set to "Half" or "Quarter" making things lesser quality so you can edit, change, and modify things faster without your computer lagging. You can change this by changing the resolution under the preview window to [FULL] but if you render it out, it's gonna end up as FULL resolution [CLEAR]. AE is just trying to save your computer from being slow
