DAVE HELP you tweaked a bunch of stuff so I dont know what to do? you say dont listen to you this is the best idea... this needs to be heard at least a little bit to show the more mature of us that building our own planes is worth it. or those that dont wanna spend the time can just go to nitrorcx or hobbyking.

    BOTTOM LINE HERE IS!!!!

  • @jamie101021 Love the DX series! 2.4Ghz bind and fly is awesome!

  • HEY ALRIGHT :DDD

  • Sorry, Mike, thats a 27mhz radio, not 72 mhz.. AM also..

  • When you got a "200 dollars radio", do you adjust the frequency of the radio to the receptor or the receptor to the radio?

  • can you fly 10 airplanes at the same time on the same radio, just switch from plane to plane?

  • Lol he said i hope that was helpless. I think he was suppose to say i hope this was helpful.

  • cool and helpful video TY for upload

  • you have no idea you're talking to... a 10 year old!

  • nerds

  • I been doing this since 1985, wish they had YouTube then. hand built balsawood, super glue, mono coat. Now they have ARF and electric motors, good advise on the radio, buy the best you can afford. The plane is cheap. I ended up with a 9 channel JR. all I will ever need. plus you can use trainer cords to teach beginners and save them some cash with them

  • I wish mine was 6 channel

  • can you guys make a video showing assembly if the electronics in the airplane?

    reply plz.:(

  • One mistake, it's a 27mhz ,not 72mhz radio

    smallpaul

  • i like the part 00:00 - 17:08

  • good one...:)

  • @divra11 thats a good one......:)

  • wow didnt think it was so complacated i am scared i might crash it and break it maybe i should get a rc boat instead

  • @spunkflunk You WILL crash it often at first. As you get better, though, crashes get far and few between. I have been flying nitro for nearly 30 years. I started when I was 10 and planted my share as I learned. Now I have wo airplanes I have been flying for about 14 years each.

  • @spunkflunk Dont worry you can practice on an RC Simulator and then you can crash as many times as you want for free..... You MUST practice first on the sims first. otherwise you will crash. See daves other videos on Sims

  • Help Dave please reply tohis comment my dad thinks I'm an arse for buying an rc plane but I really like them what's the best beginners rc plane to get please answer

  • i have 2 channels XD...Speed and Left and Right.

  • 30 dollar servos u buy once.

5 dollar servos u buy six times a week.

  • ok u are extreamly smart i got to take up this sport cuz i started heli's with a 9053 doublehorse voulition heli and i got a pretty good start. are planes the same or close to heli's oh and thanks for the ebay advice i sould start my own hobby shop when i get older

  • ware can i get foam body's?

  • dude if yu cud email me this vid that wud b epic, im new at the rc jet thing nd im tryin to learn as much as i can

  • Lol my friend flew the plane perfectly but he couldnt land and wrecked the entire plane!

  • sir we crashed our plane... one cell of our LiPo battery is showing 0V, one is loosing voltage now having about 2.3V and other is having 3.7V.... what should we do??? is it safe to keep battery or to send it through courier???plz reply quickly...

  • sir, i wanna ask that we got our plane crashed in first flight...... nw two cells of our LiPo battery are showing voltage of 3.7 & 3.8 V but third cell is showing 0 V.... is that cell damaged???? would it be safe to charge it??? our e-sky balancer charger is showing red light on and green light flashing when we try to charge it....

  • Why didn't I find this video before. Damn. I wasted ages figuring this stuff out for myself lol. Awesome series though. Will be following the rest of it for sure :D

  • are you making more in this series?

  • hola soy de chile y aunque entienda un poco de ingles tus tutoriales son very funny y constructivos sigue asi y gracias por todo

  • thankyou so much i learned a lot from this video!

  • i need help finding a decent radio for a good price can anyone help

  • I heard a lot of new things from this guy.

  • dave never replys to youtube vids but ill say anyway great vid dave it helped me alot and probably everyong else who lookined at it

  • Thanks Dave- very helpless = P

  • Dave, i have the Phoenix sim. I flew the EDF f-16 on it. is it really that stable and that easy to fly in real life?

  • he said: "I hope that was HELPLESS". Ooops!.

It is great of you to do these vids Dave. Thanks!

  • wild hawk is realy an awesome plan!!!

  • Thanks Dave..."You're helpless!"

But your tips have made it easier to build a tree thrashing crashing plane.

You've shortened the learning curve for many.

    Truly appreciate your videos!

  • question. i have a transmitter for a helicopter, its a 5 channel...can i use that on a plane?

  • yes.

  • um. That transmitter is 27 mhz. It is for toys. It is not 72 mhz.

  • where do i buy a good transmitter like that

  • Tip to everyone that this guy didnt really mention about servos what hes saying about crashing is when you get a high tec advanced servo and crash you dont shock your servo because it has servo saver on the horn very handy I recommend one

  • Nice work. It helped!

  • i had a 7.4 v. lipo that exploded

  • u rock

  • umm you can fly a 2 channel plane with that 6 channel radio right?

  • yes.

  • Thank you

  • ya buy you need the correst Rx(reciever) for your radio, and that might be more expensive and/or heavier. depends on what your doing I would say

  • if I would not be a rc pilot (since more than 45 years) I would surely start doing this wonderful hobby after having seen your video.

you really can explain very well all the necessary tips to build airplanes.

great video, you're a real expert.

  • Really good vid but i dont agree with the 2 year foam life. I have had my Hobbyzone super cub for about 3 years now and so has my friend. They both have been through a lot of crashes some really bad ones and all u need is foam safe epoxy and go back flying.

  • realy realy good vid !!!!

  • Does your receiver model have to match up with your radio model (like you have to match the brands)? Or can you use one radio for any brand of receivers within the same frequency range? Some one please help haha. Thanks.

  • didnt u say FREE for the PLANS???

all of em got a price

  • there is one, the extra 300 pdf plan

  • what is a sterdy durable cheap 3 channel begginner rc plane?

  • I would recommend you the Hobbyzone Super Cub LP RTF. Great plane my friend!!!

  • the willd hawk! check rcpowers website

  • hi i what country are u in?

  • 3:19 LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • anyone can tell me how i can mix ailerons and rudder using a 4 ch futaba? thanks

  • Try a V-Tail mixer, the same as used in slopies or combat wings

  • that was really what i wanted to hear "you gotta watch out for those lithiums, uh they can explode on ya"

  • Great! Very informative and generous! May the universe give back to you :D!

  • when i was 6 years old i already fly rc planes and helicopters

  • great vid alot of help for me

  • in one of your vedios you mhad a book for sale about rc planes in how install the electronics and how to modify your plane. Well anyways i was just wondering how i could purchase that book.

  • i am 14 and i fly rc helis. i started at 13 but you must definately get a simulator first. also you must join a club and get to know stuff and get knowledge. you also need money.............

  • Ford "SVT" sticker on the wing.... nice.... rofl

  • can 13 year olds fly rc planes because i only see adults

  • no you need to learn allot before you can fly

its not your age but you need the knowledge

  • ok thank you i cant wate in till i get my rc mustang

  • well technically, the younger you are, the easier and faster you will learn to fly.

  • yes 13 yr old can fly, you only see adults because they are the only ones that can really afford it...

  • ok good i found this p51 mustang that i want to get it is 30 dollars and it is at nitro planes

  • i crashed my plane on the first flight today :( i had upgraded it to a brushless, but i broke the engine in the crash. tha plane still works but not the engine. so now i must change back to the old sucky engine :(

  • hey dave i just bought a exceed piper cub and i need help on how to change it to a 4 channel can u post a videoo how to pls

  • Comment removed

  • 5:47

    6:01

    lol

  • ok but im a begginer so it is ok if i get that 3 ch controller and plastic servos and brushed motors right?

  • yeh

  • Davy-Dave explainy-plains usefull servy-servos and rady-radios for RC-Plany-planes and hely-copters :o)

Just fun! It's one of the best videos you ever made!

  • my plane was £123.99 on its own it was deer

  • ive justfinished making one but i put 12 small fans on mine 4 on the wings and 8 inside with air vents

  • does a 2ch mean that it can only go up and down??

  • One channel per function, so 2ch = up/down and left/right for maybe sailing.

  • no this means it can go up/down ( 1st channel )

    AND go left/right ( 2nd channel ) for example.

but 2 ch is formerly for cars and boats.

you need at least 3 ch in a plane for throttle, up/down and left/right.

the channel for throttle isn't like the other ones.

the others are normaly at the middle 50% up and 50% down, throttle iss normaly at 0% and goes until 100% . so you have the whole range in one direction.

  • 2ch usually have two engines, and they just slow one and throttle the other one to turn.

THeir aerodynamic is fixed, so that when you throttle it, it goes up..

  • can you hook up a brushless esc and motor to the non-brushed reciever?

  • the reciever doesen't have anytging to do with the ESC , it only gets the siganl from transmitter and gives it to the servos or ESC.

it doesen't matter if the cannel is connected with a servo, BL esc, convnetional esc or an electronical switch for additional funktions like lights or anything.

  • if you crash one of those things will it be over

    for the plane?

  • no. you can almost always rebuild your foamie. i have crashed my bipe more times then i can remember and it still flies.

  • yeah but i am getting an rc cessna and ITS MADE OF METAL just like the real thing.

if it crashes is it over?

  • were are you getting a metal rc cessna? i was planning on making a 1/4 scale super cub out of metal tubing like the real thing.but i don't know if the metal will make glitches. and it might be over on a crash

  • its my birthday and my dad has a friend.....

  • well yeah depending on how you hit it would be pretty much over.

  • Starmax F-5E good?

  • Where do you find all your No Electronics RC planes

  • Can you fly a 3 channel rc begginer plane in a public park?(its really big,no power lines & not many trees)P.S.i like the vidio!!!

  • yes i believe u can i do it all the time just make sure you dont break any laws

  • yeah, just make sure there arent too many people around.

I fly my planes in a football field in the afternoons when theres no one there. I have over 120 yards to myself. And none of those big stadium lights or anything.

  • Maybe you are deaf

  • NICE

  • Remember, folks. An r/c airplane is not just a "toy," it's a flying machine that can come down and injure or KILL you; therefore, safety, like many things in life, comes first----keep a good THREE MILE distance from any airport and join a club!

  • I find the best place to fly mine is at the airport.. but then again i am a pilot

  • hehehehe

  • This is a good representation; and it may seems kind of confusing at first; but for those of you who are interested in rc flying, go join an AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) membered club; and the club members will offer you the assistance you need, including safety!

  • people just click the link to his website in the description for alot of answers to your questions. He obviously doesn't have the time to monitor this to answer questions.

  • what type of plane is that where can i get one and for how much

  • great job. i learned a lot. : )

  • just get a simulator

  • simulators are very good to learn your controller and the basic of the plane...but in real it's much more difficult...

  • wow ,,im sure glad you told me that,,,after 35 years in the hobby,i would have never figured that out.

  • and fun

  • simulators is boring

  • is the tower hobbies 40 trainer rtf a good plane

  • dave you should start to learn how to fly rc heli

  • I'm just starting. I got a Dx5e radio and 3 servos. I bought a wing and motor/gearbox and built a plane. It flew reasonably well but I crashed it till it broke. I just built a tougher one which is stable like the first but it's heavy so it has to fly fast. I just crashed it a couple of times today. Is there a decent easy foam design I could build at home and use my own electronics?

  • so lets say that someone doesnt want to go to more advanced stuff and that he just want something to mess around with, what is your suggestion?

  • rc flight simulator (30.00-100.00) first, then onto an rtf electric park flyer... some kits come with a sim

  • thanks for bring us all in on your knowledge it is very helpful and you also make learning fun with your videos of you and your friends i also just got back into rc planes i bought the fms first and practiced for about a week and tried alot of high skill manuevers to get a feel for the controls and how to hold the plane still and keep it where i want it and landings so thankyou again keep the fun coming

  • This is really helpful, I'm looking at buying a plane like the one you were showing for this and I think when it crashes I will just buy a body, and lol at the end you said "Err yeah, and I hope that was helpless...." lol

  • Hey. Great and fun videos!

Im doing a glider and im wondering how to connect the battery without an esc?? "Just plug it straight into the reciever" and so i did and busted the 100$ bit..-.- Ive bought a bec i, believe its called, to make the 7.4volt 2celll lipo a 5v output but still i dont see how the bits should be connected. I dont wanna burn off my new reciever.. Maybe do a video on how to connect battery to reciever without exc? i connot be the only one with this problem.

    Thanks

  • OMG I absolutely love your vids. Thanks You!!!!!!!!

One question, how do you get your foam? I mean if you want a certain desighn how do you get it?

  • lol my bad dont answer, I should have watched the second episode first.

  • cant you just replace bth crystals and you get the same frequency without interfering with your friends plane.

p.s. "SpiceyPancakes" from web came live thing

  • nice i want to make myown plane

  • Got a question, what about not so serious flyers?

  • just buy a cheap, "ready to fly" plane and it should do fine.

  • Cool, where can I get a One More Flight shirt

  • yeah i already gave up lol its easy to do after you crash 150 bucks [3 times]

  • thanks a million this helps so much

  • would the "wild hawk" be a good choice to start with?. . . i just have a soccer field to fly . . .

  • you inspired me to fly rc planes

  • thanks man - lots of information for a beginner like me.

lol - "be careful of lithiums, coz they can, uh... explode on you."

and by the way - that f-35 was awesome. how the hell did you make that out of foam?

  • Damn Dave you guys are awesome! oh by the way we wanna see whos filming lol we hear her in every video but have never seen her.

  • hi for my rc cars i brought a £60 Supercharger The Mega Peak 3000 Witch Cuts The Carging in Half
