And I've seen other videos and it sounds like you can hear wheel hop, is it still FWD?

My friend has the LS4 (from new impala ss) in his Fiero and is touching 11s on factory engine (all stock internals).

Just trying to get some logistics for mental comparison :P

@napaindian85 It's only a matter of time my friend until a 6 second 4 cyl. appears. There just hasn't been a quote of quote "perfect" tune to engine combo found just yet. I think what needs to be done is for people to stop living with thinking the b18 engines are the best 4cyl. engines and start playing with some of the newer ones.

It is rear wheel drive. I used to have the link to another page that showed photos of the build. Pretty much anything that could be used from the Vette was. Search Civette on Google and you might find the photos.

u got to think what yr LS1 came from.. 1997 to 2000 LS1 had 345-350HP(dont think its raised till 2005) and corvette ran 13.7 @ 104 in 2000.. on 2004 they were gettin 13.2s out of magazines. so that lil civic did good for LS1 on street tires..

You know something. With time money parts and tools neccessary to put this car together you could have made a near 10 second car for just about 7 grand if you do it right.

Datsun 280z- $1500 to $2000 in decent shape

Ls1 drivetrain- $2-3000 on ebay depending

conversion kit- $1200

This setup should give you about an 11.5 1/4 for less money. Though props to the guy who put this thing together. It's deffinately different.

daddyboost you cannot compare a stock engine to a fully built one.. its way different.. correct me if im wrong but the LS1 thats dropped in ths civic is STOCK, ived had a 1.6 SOHC before and to make it run 12.6 in a qtr mile required alot of money, the SOHC was boosted with 50shot, now imagine boosting this LS1 with spray..itll be a different story obviously..wouldnt it???

Engine is in the front. Everything underneath is a 2000 Vette. LS1 with the transmission in the back.

if you look under any c5 or c6 vette....the tranny is in the back of the car....it has a torque tube....no driveshaft.....tranny is directly mounted to the rearend....

that is why you don't understand, the tranny is mounted to the rearend instead of the back of the engine because the tranny weighs 160lbs and the engine is 450lbs so that would be 610lbs in the front of a car that had and engine and tranny that weighed under 200lbs stock so you take the 160lbs tranny throw it in the rear and now you have a more even weight bias

it ran a 11.3 at 121 too.......it has a big cam.....lg long tubes......ls2 throttle body....lsx fast intake....and tuned....the car weighs 2850 with driver.....its not that light
