This is not her singing! The words from the voice and her mouth don't line up...this is fake just like the other videos...girl stop faking...it's quite obvious
Shut your face before you find a fist in it. The equipment messed up and so it looks like she's faking. But I've heard her in person and that's the real thing. And the same goes for all of the assholes here.
i think that you're more comfortable range seems to be alto. It might be good to try a lower selection because this one doesn't quite suit you. The high notes are flat sometimes. But you have a rich lower register which is excellent!
That's cool. And don't listen to anyone who says you can't or shouldn't sing this song. You sound awesome to me! -huggles- And I've been singing this song for about 6 months, and it doesn't bother my voice at all.
you sounded great im 13 too and well anyways i dono but on my screen ur lips werent with the music but its still really good i wanna fiure out how to make a video so i can put my version of phantom of the opera on here
Whoah, you're better than Charlotte what's-her-face! Get some training and, like lucideyes said, you'll take over the world! You have a gorgeous voice, it's not so hard to listen to.
Don't listen to anyone who says you shouldn't sing this song. You really did an amazing job. You don't sound 13 at all. You would take over the world with a little training and experience. And I mean that.
i think she did an excellent job. i do kamelot covers and for those that dont know roy khan, the lead singer, used to want to be a broadway vocalist. i am the lead singer of my band so from one opera-like singer to another you did very well.
it was, I knew most of it, I usually do breathe with my diaphram instead of my shoulders (I've been in so many choirs it's amazing :-P) but my room is literally 100 degrees so I was burning up and didn't really think *shrugs* but I know...and I know I have to work on my breathing...if I ever get a teacher I want them to work on that with me...I just hope I can find one!
excuse me? i don't understand why you are jump at my critique. Kathryn was ok with my critique and accepted them as constructive criticism. So, why are you taking this as an insult?
Yes, you're right. It's hard to tell if this girl can sing. Singing on stage is very different from singing a long to a c.d. An audience changes everything.
I agree with the audience comment. When you are nervous, your lung capacity becomes limited. But here, I wasn't commenting on her stage singing abilities. My critique was for this preformance alone.
Is " preformance " like PERFORMANCE ? I would suggest that this is not a "performance " at all ,but just someone singing along to a c.d. In order to critque a performance you'd need a clip of her "performing ".i.e singing in front of an audience. How is it that a 15 year is able to critique anything. Aren't you supposed to be in the "learning phase ".
Oh, and...acronyms are supposed to be capitalized: "c.d" should be C.D. also, a space comes after a comma. And yes I AM supposed to be in the learning phase but does that mean that I'm limited in my knowledge of singing technique? If you sing and post a video of yourself on the internet, it is for critique, to better yourself by the opinions and the experiences of others. I have 8 years of singing experience and I though it helpful if I shared.
So you started singing classical music at 7 years old ? Wow you must be some kind of singing miracle. When are we all going to hear this amazing voice and all this experience ,technique etc .Are you afraid to post one of your videos on here ? Or is this the voice we hear on this post ?
Here's the comment; sorry critique , you made of Holly Stell. To me it's just plain jealousy." that was just disgusting. i'm going to go and listen to Maria Callas and Renee Fleming for 10 hours to wash my freakin years out! 13yr olds should NOT be singing Arias meant for divas... " Here's the link for those people that would like to make up their own mind . "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heGLN1iOAkQ
so, you disagree with me saying that teenagers shouldn't sing arias meant for divas??? you needs to stop making desperate attempts to try and insult and prove me wrong. you seriously can't be more mature???
Aren't they pieces of music that anyone can sing ? Not everyone is Renee Fleming .Why insult a 13 year old ? She did a very good job for a 13 year old. When she's 30 i'm sure she'll do a very good job for a 30 year old. Where's the rule book that says only certain people can sing certain pieces ?
I can actually kick butt on this song, and my voice feels completely fine afterward, and I've been singing this song for at least six months and I haven't had any damage to the sound or quality of my voice at all. Oh....I forgot to mention the fact that I'm thirteen. -nods-
I looked on the sheet music but couldn't find where it said it was only for developed sopranos. The girl on this post has not done a very good job either but at least she tried
Singing opera arias at too young an age puts one at serious risk for vocal damage. Especially if if its colortura. Now i sound like some sort of voice doctor! But my point is, listen to operaticxingenue, she does in fact know what she is talking about.
To sing opera arias properly, it requires a great deal of vocal maturity, which doesn't manifest until the mid 20's for women. That's also where opera colouring emerges. It takes many years to be able to sing classically, and a good more many years to sing opera arias.
hey! nice to see you on again! i have to give you one thing, you have good resonance, better resonance than most of the things i've seen here! however, you're breathing and phrasing needs work. "you were once my one companion *breath* then my world was shattered" there were a few more places. if you'd like, i can send you a message indicating where breathes should be taken~ also, don't forget to breath with your diaphram and not your shoulders and to keep your chin aligned.
A great voice has great resonance, affected by the body's supraglottic area, pharynx, oral cavity, nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.Operaxingenue proves once again that she doesn't know what she's talking about. You can't change that aspect of your voice because you're born with it.
Was I commenting on her ability to preform on stage? I was giving critique on THIS preformance alone. You need to stop trying to prove me wrong on EVERYTHING that I say. I think you can be much mature than this.

Wow. That's really good. Your high notes are really clear. You have a really operatic voice. Have you had voice lessons?

Nope, can't say I have. the only "lessons" I've had were staying after school once a week and having the teacher teach me songs that I'd sing.

You look so up tight when singing and that reflects a little in your voice (I'm not saying you sound bad). Just relax and do what comes natural.

No. Not anyone can sing these. Which is why REAL sopranos study for years to do justice to the great arias they are singing.
