If you're barber works in grades like in the United Kingdom, i get a 0.5 back and side with a 3 on top scissor cut,

meaning its close to being bald on the back and sides with about an inch of hair on top..

Well done. I've worn a flat top most all my life and have to find a new barber soon. (he's retiring at 83) No one has ever been able to mimic his cut yet. Dead straight up from the temples, dead flat on top. Square where vertical meets horizontal, perfect fade down to a zero. Like to see you cut one like that... I mean I'd really enjoy seeing it, wasn't bein a smartass.

For a Military cut I would have taken the top down a little more. Maybe put a landing strip in the middle. then rounded it off a little more. Maintenance free air cut.

Good grief, how cool is THAT??? You sure go to great lengths to perfect your art, and ART it IS! I'm in cosmo school and someone came in for a "high and tight" the other day and my instructors pretty much botched it. Yesterday someone came in for a flat top and my instructor said, pretty much, "You're on your own, this is my weak point." So, the client walked me through it. I NEED YOU, lol! Being a military brat, I know what one is supposed to look like, and trust me, I know what one isn't!
