when i add media generator text and resize it, it will onnly allow me to move that text in a certain area and when i go above or below that area that media generated text disappears. i've tried maintain ratio but then then it always becomes really wide.. what can i do to fix it?

hey there...i have been using vegas 8 pro for quite a long time, for fun mostly. i had it on vista and it was just fine.but now i installed the exactly same software into my laptop, windows 7 and i cant work with media, only audio. i have been looking all day for an answer but i cant find one. what can i do to fix this? i got vegas 9 pro and vegas 10 pro but i still have the same problem. enlightenment would be very much appreciated!!!!

it's hideing under your desktop... so go to sony vegas

open the pan crop, now move the desktop to the side, and it should be there~

@xDeGree21x xD LOL sorry not the main desktop screen, ummm like when your on the internet and there's like a bar at the very bottom.? like where that flag thing is at....go to sony vegas

open the pan crop, now move that bar to the side by clicking on it and while holding the bar just move it to the side and it should be there~ hope that helped~

I can no longer use the event pan/crop due to it disappearing under my actual screen? The windows bar at the bottom of every screen where the date and time is, thats where my pan/crop is. There you can change the properties of the project you doing. Simple!!

IMPORTANT:

I Found a solution to the problem where you can only move the video left to right or only up to down movement listen for the solution:

when you open that window, (Event Pan Crop) there are 6 tools on the left of the screen, now press the last one under the box inside of a box looking thing, the one you should press is looking like an arrow with both sides. press it. Voilla! Its moveable now! But now its only up and down :( Solution: Press it again. Thumbs up for others to see.

@JoshMacAulay The program can only see what the camera records, nothing beyond that frame. How can it know that if you record just the top of a tree, there's a park and swings below that? That's why it's black; it doesn't know what's beyond.

Is it possible to zoom in but position the media in another space in the window? E.g. have the zoomed effect of 7:34 but with it occupying the lower left area rather than right-ish corner?

When the 'Event Pan/Crop' menu is open you should try making the box (the one with the 'F' in the centre) bigger than the size of the video. Depending on what size you give it you should be able to move the video around the window.

If you want to do this while having zoomed though you should try the 'Deform' Video FX also with it.

You can also achieve all this by going in the 'Track Motion' menu.

Type in 'Picture In Picture' on Youtube and you should find a Tutorial for it :)

Yes , I did :)

It's really simple .

It'll make you go , "Oh, I could've done that ."

What you do is just open up your Event Pan/Crop , which will open up in the Explorer/Project Media/Transitions .. etc . tabs .

Then , on the upper left corner of the Event P/C tab , there's an [ x ] &nd under it is an arrow , &nd under the arrows are six dots .

Just drag those six dots to the middle of the Sony Vegas screen &nd it will open up as the window again , instead of the tab . I hope that helps :)

Well the same place were you unlock aspect ration, there is a button at the end. Its the last one. For you it might look just like an arrow pointing upwards and downwards. Press that button until you have a cross. One arrow going up and down, and the other going side to side.
