Texas isn't the best state, with that being siad, that does not mean I hate it, I've been here for 12 years and have to say, there are worse, boringer places. But I like other states too, this state has some stuff, but I do not agree wih it being the best.

This fir was so scary yet sad. I live around West Creek down in west San Antonio and we had a fire scare near hwy 211, some fire that started and grew out in the farms.
Updated info. FEMA and Red Cross have been stationed at the 9th Grade Academy for 3 weeks now in Bastrop and I believe will be there for a few more weeks due to the recent fires of this week.
One good thing came of this fire. I learned just how awesome everyone in this area is when I tried to donate stuff and was told they didn't need anything (clothing) because everyone already had donated, so I handed them 400 bucks and will skip the luxuries this month, just wish I could do more, and at the same time glad I don't have to. Texas Rocks!
@MrMakeamess Hey there doing there best . the fire is now 30% contained and FEMA who the hell knows. but the fire fighters are still fighting it its more then 15 miles long they cant just magical put it out so don't be giving them crap the're out there risking there lives for us.

So FEMA has been turning away firefighters and others and won't help out until the Federal government declares Texas a disaster area. Pretty fucked up that Obama helps Mexico fight their wildfires but not Texas.

Check out my vid about the South Texas Fire Debacle. My friend lives just south of Bastrop where the fires were heading and he had been fighting fires for 2 days. After he told me how red tape and forest officials treated him it's a wonder the fires are contained, had it not been for the winds dying down over these last 2 days they would be in deep shit about now...
OMG, my oldest son is out there fighting these fires and tells me that he has NEVER seen anything like this. The loss of homes is crushing all of them; they want so badly to save everything.

I'm pretty sure the folks I know, that their house is gone now.
