Excellent video - I wonder if there is a way to get a hold of a higher quality version? I looked up John Jorgenson videoproduction - but there are a lot of Jorgensens! Please post an email so I can get in touch. thanks
Now imagine a government agency, committe or department was created in charge of directing bird flight patterns so that ALL birds (regardless if they are starlings, jays or crows) fly within certain parameters. How would one suppose that would turn out?
yeah from my understanding of the starlings swarm, their reaction time is 6 times that of our own. The simply just react the moments of their neighbors and thus you see the delay in the wave-like motion. Their really heavy in Rome during the mating season lol
it looks like a drop of colored water in a cup of a clear one. amazing. just like if energy around us was visible, it would look exactly like this. pretty fucking amazing.
You think they ever bump into eachother and pull some sort of road rage type shit? Ever think that if they all just simply went in one direction...just one mother fucker that he would be looked at as a leader! I dunno, I am at this moment wondering if a hungry frog is looking up wishing he could fly!!!

To 'franky9fingers'..what did scientists 'found' ?! Are yu that gullible ? Let's face it..this is one more mystery of life we'll never understand..we just dont have the capacity as humans to explain everythin on our planet !
great vid. scientist found out that each bird is in contact with 5-6 birds around him. that, apparently, makes it possible for them to communicate in split seconds. not sure if i made my self understanding....

European Starlings are the most filthy thing for US farmers. We have to poison them once or twice a year. They make a mess out of animal feed and will usually ruin it. The most fun I have with these large swirling flocks is too shoot into them with a shotgun :)

Don't they every hit each other?
stupitxshyxguy 2 years ago
Nope, that's the beauty of it. At the speed they're going, if they do hit one another the impact is catastrophic.
