  • Artie is the ultimate Realist.

  • NOT ABLE!

  • The original Malcolm Tucker!

  • You told me this story before, you took the money. "That may be."

  • I swore I killed a man like her in korea!!!!

  • The great Rip Torn in his signature role. Awesome.

  • Entourage and extras are both excellent but this is the greatest spoof series of the lot

  • We all need more Artie's in our lives and less Hank's

  • larry, hank, and artie all like have a weird hilarious crazy smile.... anyone else notice that?

  • Greatest show I've ever seen. Tambor, Shandling and especially Rip Torn are stunning. The Hope Diamond, the Rolls Royce Corniche, the Mt. Everest of comedy/satire.

  • You know, I never really knew what the hell a "producer" did on any movie, TV, or radio show until I saw the great Rip Torn as Artie. Man, he pulls it all together. He is the glue that holds the entire show from falling apart under its own weight. How I wish I knew an "Artie" in my life.

  • "Hank's his own man, does whatever he wants...

    Sit down there Hank!"

  • Larry: No Flipping.

    Hank: Hey now!

Artie: doesn't need a catchphrase because everything he says is pure gold.

  • Don't take this as a threat , but I killed a man like you in Korea, hand to hand

  • "You're nothing but Larry Sanders personal fuck bitch!"

  • I wish Arthur was my life coach.

  • The greatest television show of all time.

  • Pure genius, and perhaps affirmation that you're never too far from the edge once you cross that line. The brilliance of this show was that it wasn't just brilliantly funny, it also evoked pathos and poignancy. That Tambor's performance eclipsed Shandling is impressive enough, but that Torn topped them both is amazing. Nothing on TV has come close since.

  • and you took the money

    That may be

  • Artie is king, I'll second that.

Well done fsp123 - great clips.

  • Best show, best character ever... Rip Torn you're my Hero!

  • Language is atrocious, its no wonder he is on the booze, he has definitely got some deep anger issues in his character to come out with such profanity.

  • 8:55 ... Oh how I love this man !

    Heh heh...

  • Artie is just the most wonderful character for this kind of show, completely ruthless and goal driven to the point of near insanity. His facial expressions are some of the funniest things I've ever seen, they don't and shouldn't match the situation but they so do. No matter how nuts Artie is, you know he's the guy who's going to get the job done.

  • sublime

  • greatest comedy show ever, beats sienfeld and curb

  • Artie reminds me of my old sales manager, Richard, at a company called Coast Aluminum Products....he was a kick in the pants.

  • "You're mind amazes me."

"I'm just now comfortable with it myself."

    I love these Artie-isms

  • rip fuckin kills me buzz

  • This is PERFECT. You nailed it, totally. Good job!

    Artie is the best!

  • anyone know the years this show ran?

  • Funniest character ever

  • indeed.

  • his ass will be rip torn in jail

  • "...for me it's a perq. Kicking ass in the morning is better than cappucino." Artie is the MAN!

  • Open letter to Mr. Shandling.

    Dear Garry,

When is your next sitcom going to be on television?

    Please make it soon,

    Best,

    Jon

  • "the complex with loaded with fellow divorce victims, so whenever you get the urge to piss all over your ex..everybody joins in"

ROFL!!! That's gotta be one of the best forms of dialog I've heard in comedy ever!

  • Artie and Hank may be 2 of the greatest TV comedy characters of all time, and nobody could've played Artie better than Rip Torn.

  • COUSINS WHO FUCKKK!!

  • Rip Torn! One of a kind. This role suited him soooo well, and he NAILED IT !! The Larry Sanders show was put together like nothing else, past, present, and more than likely...future. Of course toss in the amazing talent of Jeffery Tambor, as well as Gary Shandling. Gut busting laughs...GUT BUSTING I say! Thanks for the compilation. Very very funny!

  • "Does the name Sally Jesse Raphael mean anything to you!!!" Hahah that's my favorite episode all cause of Artie. I love the part where he's going off on some grandiose diatribe about showbiz backstabbing in front of Hank who's been freshly devastated by the substitute producer's notes, and Hank asks Artie if he does skew to an older demographic, to which Artie continues his diatribe but half way through Hank starts rubbing the inside of his leg and he goes, "Hank! What the hell are you doing?!"

  • "Jesus, Artie.."

  • Everyone needs an Artie in their lives.

  • @Transformersgeek And KNOW their poker size!

  • @Transformersgeek Dude, I just wrote that google+; I scroll down and I see this! So true...so true

  • Oh, yes indeed! Mr. Richard Simmonssss!!!!

  • "Hank's his own man, he does whatever he wants. Sit down Hank." That pretty much sums up his character.

  • Nice work.

  • Artie is based on Fred DeCordova, Johnny Carson's longtime producer.

  • Artie after a few too many Salty Dogs -- gotta love it!

  • this cut is feckin genius. well done. brilliant cut. man's brilliant.

  • love the scene that starts @ 1:55.

everyone should try to be a little bit of Artie every day.

  • Artie ruled my fucken world for 12 years.

  • Artie is one of my heroes. The heckler bit on Hank is an all-time classic.

  • Artie is one my favorite charactors, Rip Torn is absolute gold.

  • Rip Torn is a f@cking genius.
