  • it doesnt take 2 seconds to reload a musket and they hardly used muskets they used henry rifles and winchesters

  • @TheCanadianbrothers ummm.... not completley true, the average foot soldier during the civil war used a enfield or springfield rifle, which were "muskets" which you could fire about 3 shots in a minute(if you were good). The repeaters were mostly saved for the cavalry, mosly union. But good vid for a school project :) I will be a reenactor at the 150th Antietam reenactment if anyone is out there!!

  • soldiers would lay on the field of battle sometimes as long as three days before receiving any help. Others whom could have been saved died from being stuck underneath the dead on top of them. The 30,000 which died is a total of included the wounded later dying from poor medical treatment, the missing later found dead.

Please remember that doctors wouldn't risk their lives many times than not to treat those stuck on the field of battle until after words. Clara was the exception.

  • are you forgetting the wounded which laid on the battlefield and would later die of infection, poor medical treatment. How about the missing in action which where later found died in the from the battle. How about the thousands which died later on from doctors waiting to treat their wounded.

Clara Barton was the first to come up with fast medical treatment! Remember things back then where like today. She was the one whom started the whole idea of fast medical response in the civil war.

  • Good work boys! I hope you got an A+!

The bloodiest day in American history.

  • Y.O.U.R.....A......D.U.M.B.A.S.S.....

  • yes finally someone who knows what they are talking about! Anglheart21740. Great comment love it. Yes your right. Because of the battle of Antietam, Lincoln was looking at becoming impeached! People became angry over the amount lost at Antietam! They blamed Lincoln for it! To save the nation and himself from becoming impeached he released the emancipation proclamation. This re-sparked the flam for the war. He had turned the war into an issue over slavery.

  • @Civilwar555 The war was always about slavery. He was in no danger of being impeached. What kind of fantasy world do you live in?

  • @BryantFinlay First off! The war from 1861 to 1862 was about keeping the union as a whole. I'm a civil war reneactor and did over 8 years of research! Heck even wrote several novels on this very battle and the outcome it had over the american civil war. You ask any southern reenactor or northern reenactor and they will tell you the same thing.

End of part 1 of 2

  • @Civilwar555 If you did research, then why do think there were 35,000 killed at Antietam? That is an absurd figure which no historian agrees with.

  • @BryantFinlay Lastly; How about the Irish who fought? How about confederate machineguns which were made and used in the battle of Pettersburg 1864 to 1865, or the union counter machinegun known as the Gatling gun! How about landmines which were first used in 1864 to 1865. What about the trench warfare which was created from 1864 to 1865. Pettersburg was the same setting as World War I only during the civil war. The world just copied many of the things that occurred in the almost yearlong battle.

  • @BryantFinlay Please learn your history and do some research before you make a statment like that for next time! This would help all us reenactors out whom travel across the US to teach our children and aduilts :)

  • I'm also counting the men lost from poor medical treatment moments after the battle ended. A witness count, from the battle, said to have seen the river turn red for almost a week after the battle ended.

  • yes Dday was the bloodiest for the world; however, Antietam is the bloodiest day even still today for Americans! Well over 35,000 thousand died from the result of Antietam. All Americans! Americans only lost a little less than 24,000 for DDay! Make sure you know your history :)

  • @SimmonsJoel1789

  • i made a thompson out of wood but there pretty hard to make

  • youtube.com/watch?v=UAD2dgu-3u8&feature=related

  • Yet another misconception about the war......The war started over taxes and land rights not slavery ....Abraham Lincoln made it a slave issue half way threw the war.

    Nice video filmed very good......

  • @SimmonsJoel1789 there were about 5,000 American casualties on d-day and the number of deaths alone at antietam was about 7,000

  • @LowUnderpassFilms the actual deaths were closer to 4,000

  • really good! makes my re-enactment video look bad.

  • Dude you said that this was the bloodiest day in American history thats not true D-Day was the bloodiest day not the battle of Antietam get your war right.

  • @TheRebelpreacher the civil war ended 145 years ago. get over it, dude

  • @BryantFinlay The war may have ended 145 years ago. I have just started to fight. I grow my on food and raise my own meat. I do not buy clothes from Corporation of America, our clothes are made at home. I only do business with Southern companies who home basic is in the South. I do not shop at Wal Mart-because of Corporate greed and thier YANKEE ways of distroy-ing smal people business. I do not like Corporate America.. They force thierself upon other nation.

  • @TheRebelpreacher Hey, I think corporations have done wrongdoing, but that's no reason to skewer people in the North. 4 million people were freed from slavery as a result of the war, so I'm at peace with that.

  • @BryantFinlay Slavery was supose been stop ,when this YANKEE Nation was founded. The Declaration of Indpependence says " ALL MEN IS CREATED EQUAL". The amendments of the constitution was created and all Lincoln had to do was take a pen and added another amendment to stop slavery. This YANKEE NATION let sergation to contine until the 1960's.Slavery was Linclon lie and cover up. At one time Linclon had slaves building ship to send them back to Africa and he was hoping they would kill each other.

  • @TheRebelpreacher Who was it that kept up segregation in the US? Oh yeah, that was the South. Emmett Till, Rosa Parks, the attacks on the marchers at the Edmund Pettus bridge. Come on man, you're going to have to better than that.

  • @BryantFinlay Sergation was allow by this Yankee Nation and it could been stop by this YANKEE NATION. By amednment of constition - that is what amendments are for. To change things.

  • What did u use for the effects

  • nice job man! Very entertaining, but it must have been a bitch and a half adding all the gunshot noises and flashes

  • every time u die its slow mo lol

  • how you get al these weapons? you made then from wood or something?

  • They're all made out of wood

  • Did u make them

  • r u suposed to be sgt. winsloww

  • sadly the winners write the history books. It wasn't over slavery... Abe Lincoln couldn't have cared less about slaves in the south.

  • actually the plans were rapped in silver bullets

  • This war wasn't fought to end slavery

  • Some of your information is incorrect. For instance, Lincoln didn't end slavery because he thought it was bad, it was a political move.

  • @noodlehead95 a little of both

  • tayski says you re a good director

  • the plans were found wrapped in their cigars

  • the way they got shot cracked me up SO hard hah!
