@Kingzylo You basically wish you could traverse time as if it were but a road and nothing more? Moving forward in time while your body and mind remain in a state of slumber - preserving the only thing you own, life?
I'd prefer to use the Epoch to see what the universe will be like in a thousand years from now...Will it be an apocolyptic landscape like its portrayed in many sci-fi books, movies, and games? Or will it be an age of advanced technology....
@Kingzylo Well friend if we (people/humanity) came together and stood up against that which pushes us down and controls us (many different things) then we could put our heads together in the end and possibly design some form of technology to allow us this sort of action. As we (humanity) stand right now however; too many "personal wars" are being waged and too much ignorance infects our existance....Only when we come together will we reach a golden age....
@SchnuffelB I dont know if you're just trying to troll...but describing this song as "sad" would be like looking at a Van Gogh and saying "It's blue, white, with some yellow in it." Sure, you described it...but you did a horrible injustice to the message of the painting if that's how you describe it. Yeah, this song is "sad"...but it's also a myriad other things.
@toomuchcaffeinetoday ""This song represents a phobia of lonelyness that has been forgotten by modern man as we are connected through various ways. A darkness, a mystery, seperation, desolation, isolation, starvation, and depression; all created by an unknown, the same unknown which drive some to seek answers within the very fabric of time itself..."" -- How's that?
I actually had a dream to this theme once. I awoke and tried to report in to my hanger for work, but the sky was grey all over with bits of ash falling from the sky. I made it to the hanger and saw that everything looked abandoned, but I still found everyone...Only it looked like they had all died where they were and it looked like they had been there for hundreds of years. Creepy...CREEPY dream.
This was when you got the ship Epoch from Balthasar, from what I remember. But the perfect picture to place in this touching and yearningly beautiful song. How Magus stared out over the cliffs in that era of the past, and he remembers..
"Behold. Everything's at the bottom of the sea. Gone is the magical kingdom of Zeal, and all the dreams and ambitions of its people."
"I once lived there...but I was another person then."
Lol such epic music having to be put down to the snes, I feel sorry for the people who made such great music just to see it put down to the sound quality of the snes
Man, as one of CT's biggest fans, if not THE biggest, I must say, the SNES is what makes it SO great. The sounds. The sprites. The colors. Pure style and art, and nothing more. It is an absolute gem in history, and I and many others, would have it NO other way.
yea man you got it backwards. Composers just put down the noise on paper. People, with any instrument, can play it in any way the want. The SNES wasn't the limiting factor; it was simply the heralder of the music. Its actually very humble and beautiful that way. Sort of like baby Jesus being born in a barn rather than a palace or something grand, you know?
@Mralec007 I saw an interview with Yasunori Mitsuda (Guy who wrote the music in Chrono Trigger) and he was saying what a challenge it was to put all the parts he had in his head, into the game. Of course it all worked out in the end because now orchestras perform his songs.
@OSam253 I agree. All I can make are vague associations with discovery, revelation, sadness, and some discouragement but with some hope sprinkled in. Probably because that sealed room containing Balthasar's voice is permanently associated in my mind with this song.
go to google and search youtubedownload. and pick a link and type in the Url in the indicated box and u can download a flv version of this . If you dont have anything that can play flvs then download a flv converter and convert it into a mp3 or sumthing that u can play.
This song plays beyond the flow of time.
