I myself am a practitioner in the state of utah, in utah people frown very heavily on the practice due to the misunderstanding of the art, we have no safe place to train we cannot train in public property, parks, let alone at colleges. I received such heavy resistance when trying to organize a club at my college and I find myself dropping out of college so that I may pursue other avenues to help bring parkour up in a proper way.
You guys ought to come to the University of Kansas in Lawrence Kansas and convince them. I tried and when they replied back, they gave me what everyone else has. All of this "Too many legal ramifications, definite serious injuries, don't want to get sued, etc, etc." Whatever they researched, it wasn't a true portrayal of parkour. Seriously, though, help!
Finally a documentary that isn't loaded with new wave bullshit. If these people can somehow beat UrbanFreeflow, parkour has a chance. I'd rather support a group of integrity and truth than a group of sellouts to the media.
hahah i love how it says parkour was originated. its the word yes. but if u look at it. parkour is a natural thing for humans to do. weve been doing it since we were hunters. weve been doing it in warfare and all though just recently weve began to just redevelope these natural movements again youll find that its more like human rehibilitation than anything else. why else do you think you like doing it so much its only natural and its in all of our dna. it just became a passion to sum ppl
I love parkour, but give me a break. Why do they always say the same thing? "Its not just about looking good its about feeling the energies of the cosmos blah blah.." No. It's just about looking good. But its also an activity...so I guess its more..but being that the concept of that alludes foreigners they misunderstand the feeling that its something more. It's not a way of life nor it is some monkish/chinese thing.
@mwarrior17 For Some People It Is. Its Different For Every Practitioner, And It Depends On Each of Their Perception Of Parkour. Some People go Into it Thinking It Just Looks Cool, While Others See it As An Entirely Different Way To Live
if anyone here can help me out...i live detroit, michigan and im looking for a parkour group (like described in video) to help me improve and progress, can anyone help me? oh and im only 14 and have been trainning in parkour for 1 month now and its completely changed the way i see and live my life. (and not to mention has been the main thing in my life) so if anyone can help me plzz write back. thanks.
I love this video! Great job! I'm a new traceuse from Malaysia and have been following the Parkour in America documentary. It's really inspiring for a new group here in Malaysia that I'm a part of called Discret Parkour. I will definitely share this with my fellow traceurs and traceuses here. I look up to Parkour Generations A LOT and it's great how they went over to Ohio to help with everything. I would sure hope they would make the time to come to Malaysia some day. Keep training safely!

@matthew5551
As a physical and mental method of training, with values and a philosophy, parkour haven't existed for that long. The Yamakasi guys created it.
