@TheNamikazeSatelite ... oh, just a habit i guess .. =) .. i have a few large, sturdy spoons that i always like to work with no matter what i'm making .. =D
@cjdaddy43 ... a super famous youtuber? now i KNOW you are just playing! LOL .. ;D .. woah, 40 or 50-ish is a HUGE collection!! where did/does he keep them all? did/does he have a warehouse?
@RamblinAround ... oh, that's great to hear jeff! i'm sure there will be more to come! LOL .. ;D .. i was really happy with these new cookies! they turned out pretty good .. =D
@cjdaddy43 ... wait, can't your rope someone you know and love jon into making these for you? LOL .. ;D .. that old stove is about 30 years old and we use to use it a lot. however, in the last 10 years or so, it has seen less and less action. poor thing .. =S .. it still works great though! .. =)
@billyCtv ... haha .. 'cookies' is a powerful word! .. ;D .. there are some pretty awesome cooking vids on here billy and it is our job to watch 'em all if at all possible! i'm right there with ya on that one! LOL .. =D
@goldilocks829 ... gooey is good!! .. =D .. i'm so glad you liked the look of them. they turned out really well. my sister has already asked me to make them again sometime soon! .. =D
@1DRock37167 ... you truly are a man after my own heart! LOL .. ;D .. you never know how a first time recipe will turn out but this one was definitely a winner! the whole family likes them .. =)
@cheesestr4wz ... hahaha ... i'll remember that if ever you come to visit. i'll just sit you down somewhere in the kitchen and fire them into your mouth straight from the cookie sheet! the kids will love that! LOL .. ;D .. oh, what a sweet thought! i hope brooklyn and i will get to bake lots of things together .. =D
You had me at Hershey's =) i like the way you have it all set up an ready to go. On I like extra vanilla too. Looks very yummy. I may have to give em a try.
@tweetnes ... haha .. i'm so glad to know that hershey is such a powerful word! .. ;D .. i'll have to use it more often! ~hehe~ .. ;D .. now, normally when i bake the counter wouldn't look anything like that. but, for camera, it saves time organizing it all first! .. =D .. for a first time recipe they turned out really, really good irene! i don't think you'll be disappointed if you do decided to give these babies a try! .. =D
@dreamer72fem ... you said it stacey!! .. =D .. i would eat 10! LOL .. ;D .. except chocolate cookies of any kind give me terrible heartburn! .. T_T .. so i just stick to one or two at a time now! LOL .. ;D
@AMDs44 ... well, that's a good enough reason! LOL .. ;D .. i love a nice moist vanilla cake myself with my dad's homemade icing! he makes really great icing! .. =D
It is hard to tell how much cookies will spread the first time you bake them. These didn't look like they spread a whole lot so, if you make them again, squish them a little flatter before baking.
I like the double chocolate! These are right up my alley. Well done!
@yoyomax12 ... hi tam, thank you for the advice about taking a fork to them! that would totally work! i prefer my cookies not to spread out too much myself (unless i'm making molasses sparkles) but i do have friends who are the opposite! so, this is a great trick i can use when baking for them .. =D .. they turned out so much better than i hoped. i think they wont disappoint you at all if you decided to try them some day! .. =)
OK, don't hate me but those cookies looked liked little cow pies! LOL I think I will try this recipe, maybe i can veganize it for Valkyrievegan2. You are an experienced baker since you knew to put the chocolate chips in the dry ingredients first so the chips would all sink to the bottom of the batter. You should try mixing with a wooden spoon, it will be easier and won't scratch the inside of your bowl. Just a thought. I bet they were awesome baked in that canadian wood stove you have! LOL
@Fightdog ... cow pies! man, everyone's a critic! .. =P .. oh, i bet you could veganize it! you are so sweet to mary! .. =} .. an experienced baker? oh, if you only knew .. =S .. my mom taught my oldest brother to bake cakes and cookies. and then, when he was 16, he taught my twin and i (we were 11) to bake b/c he was tired of making goodies for the whole family! LOL .. ;D .. i've been baking ever since but, i'm afraid what i know is just from trial and error! ~haha~ .. ;D
@trvlbuggy ... well, it's a mixed bag. my dad doesn't much care for cookies and squares (theses are the things i usually make). you kinda gotta get him on the right day. mom, on the other hand, loves my baking but she's watching her weight and always feels guilty if she indugles. and well, karey and my brother korey (who visits from time to time) would eat it all up if no one was looking! LOL .. ;D
Katie, yum. these look like wonderful cookies. I may try for our super bowl party...I keep trying to not have sugary things (one person is a diabetic) so.... will have to make a list of whats going to be served to make sure there is some goodies for her..my hubby will and her hubby would love these. thanks for the vid. Does the wood stove behind you work? Amazing kitchen there.wow
@trvlbuggy ... oh, i think they'd be a great hit at your super bowl party .. =D .. i don't think you'll be disappointed with them! they were so good that i've promised the family i'll make them again sometime soon! LOL .. ;D .. ah, yes, the wood stove works. it's about 30 years old and we use to use it all the time for both heating up the kitchen and for cooking. however, not so much npw. but, it's still in great condition despite that .. =)
@yllekr123 ... oh kelly, i hope you do give these one a try! i don't think you'll be disappointed. we liked them so much that my sister has already asked me to make them again! LOL .. ;D
@FunnyHaHa312 ... oh billy, there is a baker in all of us! you just need practice is all! honest! .. ;D .. they really did turn out super well. we liked them enough here at the house that i'll definitely make them again before too long .. =)
Oh! Another piece of that dish set! All we have left is the gravy boat. I remember having cereal in a massive bowl like that! I still think it's kinda wild your family has the same set. Call me crazy, but I think it's cool! Extra vanilla is a must! Mmmm, I've been thinking about doing some baking. Cookie brownies sound good. :O) -Steve
@warmgulfwind ... haha .. yes, it is! you make me laugh steve! .. ;D .. karey likes to eat out of that bowl! ~haha~ .. ;D .. oh, i think you should totally do some baking! and most baking freezes really well! so, if you don't want to pig out you can always throw half of whatever you make in the freezer for a rainy (snowy) day! .. =D
@COOLIKEDATAZIAN ... so glad you think so jason! i didn't know how they would turn out but we were all really happy with them! i'll definitely make them again .. =D
Katie, wait a minute- u forgot to tell us the nutritional vitamin & minerals benefits (laugh) ...oh, my mouth literally watered @ the end, they looked way too good - I'm not crazy about fudge, but great brownies or something with brownies can bring me to my knees. You and Fightdog could start a bakery/ cuisine combo and make huge $ :) Great job! hugs, Jim
@CombatOasis .. woops! sorry about that slip-up jim! ah, i think they are high in carbs, sugar and fats! uh-oh, maybe that's why i didn't say anything! .. =S .. you'd better not tell anyone or my baking days here on yt will be numbered! LOL .. ;D .. for a first time recipe they turned out really great! i'm so glad they looked mouth watering! .. =D .. brownies bring you to your knees, eh? i'll remember that! ~mwahaha~ .. =P .. oh, i don't think bob would let me in his kitchen! LOL .. ;D
Why do you do one egg at a time? I've always wondered that. Is that real vanilla? I like to double up imitation but I REALLY like to double up real. :)
@Myk63 ... ah, it's one egg at a time b/c it is easier to blend a single egg than to blend two at a time into the batter due to the very slimmy consistency of the egg! .. =) .. you can, however, throw both in at once if you don't mind using a little more elbow grease (or a mixer!). that was artificial vanilla .. sigh .. i always double up on the real stuff too! ~haha~ .. ;D
@oopspaw Thanks, since I use a mixer I'll remember that. I made my own vanilla and love it, then I figured up how much it cost. Now I bite the bullet if the flavor will come through. My sister buys it in large quantities like that so I wasn't assuming the size meant artificial.
@Myk63 ... wow, you made your OWN vanilla!! that is sooo cool!! .. =D .. my mom use to buy the natural vanilla (it was white/clear) from a company called Watkins. but, she refuses to buy it when i'm around b/c she says i have no sense of moderation! LOL .. ;D .. she could be right about that! ~haha~ .. ;D .. oh, and the real stuff she use to get came in a big bottle too! .. =)
@angienicholas ... okay, so no chewy brownie cookies for you late at night! i do not want to saoatage your efforts in any way angie! .. =S .. but, all the same, thank you so much for the wonderful compliment about the vid! cooking vids are kinda fun in a way .. =D
