Dude! don't put your self down so much. So you don't have a piece of paper from a college.... but YOUR teaching! You could be handing out certificates!!
You wouldn't happen to have any videos on making the actual gear hob would you?
I've seen the video "Making Gears the Easy Way" but when it comes to grinding the lathe hss bit for cutting the hob grooves, it leaves some information out and I'm unsure about that part ... the rest is fairly simple from there on out.
... about the only thing I'm sure of is the 40 degree included angle and the circular pitch ... is there a flat on the end of the hss bit or is it ground to a point?)
I am not real good on this you tube stuff but I attempted to send you a friend invite if you accept it I can open up some private videos that I have on making the hobs. The series is not finished nor will it be, but it might help you since you have seen the other video.
Looks great! Can wait to see the rest. A real turn-on for those who don't have time for the real thing, but enjoy it vicariously - like watching "Modern Marvels" at a more technical level. Thanks for making and posting.
Wow. That gearbox is quite professional looking. Nice job!
