Well, the warden had those guys attack Stallone's friend, with the heavy weight, so Stallone would want to see revenge against Chink, (therefore the warden would have a justifiable reason to keep Stallone in prison for life.) And the warden had that guy tell Stallone he was gonna rape his gf. So Stallone would escape. And if you escape, you get a manditory 10 years added to your sentence. The warden was out to get him, so he was doing all those things, to get Stallone to give him an excuse.
