Is it important that the chocolate is chopped up? I just tried this recipe, and I don't know why.. but the chocolate left the whole thing kind of.. gritty? It was like some parts of the chocolate just wouldn't melt or something. Help please?

@Theatriics Make sure it is pure chocolate, some chocolate contains stabilizers which might not dissolve. Chocolate should contain cocoa solids/nibs/liquor, cocoa butter, sugar (sometimes vanilla and milk powder) but that should be it! lecithin or other fats or oils shouldn't be there. also no starches or stabilizers. Also, if you heat it up too much you can burn the chocolate and it will get grainy like that.
