He's doing it by extruding (E) the faces inward. The subsurfs are taking care of the rounded shapes by themselves.

I think there's a better way of making the holes, since I find these ones too large for any die... If there's no other good die tut out there, I'll make one. If I can find a better way of doing it. :D I think I'm having an idea how...

for some reason I cant move the box around in 3d, how do you do it?

if you have a mouse then click down on the scroller and just move around

or you can hold R and move your mouse around

If your going to make a tutorial for the love of god explain what your doing! If you don't then don't make a tutorial. Actually this isn't a tutorial at all this is just a silent film of "Look at what I can do" type of video.

Maybe this will help somebody:

Mesh/Edges/Loop Subdivide/3

for each side...

add Modifier/Subsurface Level=4

select faces

extrude (E) first time with little or no change

extrude again inwards

Make 1st material and apply.

Make 2nd material and apply.
