  • 2:35 You can use that attack that fires in all directions to kill that drone.

  • I downloaded and played this game after seeing the first two minutes of this video and beat it shortly thereafter. Ended up becoming one of my favorite shoot 'em ups. Amazing music, great graphical style and really fun to play. I still have not been able to beat the second quest kind of thing. This is one hard game, especially on the higher difficulty settings..

Either way, thank you, DC, for introducing me to yet another great gem!

  • @Loliciousfuga This sort of thing makes it all worth it.

  • I love the simplistic graphics. Reminds me of a cross between an old school pre Atari game, and a game from the original Gameboy

  • thank you for introducing me to a pretty awsome new(to me) indie game

  • @LunarNors This is why I do what I do.

  • Is it recommended to play Hero before you play this game?

  • I just got this game, and I struggled with Silencer.

  • Take away the "a" in the word "asteroid" and you get a major spelling flub!

  • I love it when the antagonist has slaughtered millions of people, destroyed galaxies or some other monumentally evil deed, and you describe that person as: "Kind of a jerk".

  • That hydra fight looked fun. GRAZE THE DANMAKU!!

  • thank you so much for introducing this game! i beat in a day, but it was awesome. a nice retro flavored challenge with fairness and exploration, perfect combo. also, thanks for reminding me in this video to check out the secret in the room with the unbreakable laser wall

  • This game kinda reminds of Cybernoid for some reason.

  • 6:43. You say you can't get through the laser barriers without getting hurt. Clearly, you must reboot your nanofield for mercy invincibility.

  • "I still can't make heads or tails of it."

    Do-ho-ho~!

(That thing really comes in handy during Annihilation mode.)

  • @DragonKnSage I tried doing that in hard mode. That was a nasty surprise :(

  • Ahh, flying fetus!

  • Played through this game on Normal Mode, loved it! Thinking of trying it on hard mode soon. I agree, though, Brother Android did an -awesome- job on this game's music!

Also, have you tried playing this with the "Retro" language option on yet?

  • This game is Kick-Ass! Just like that movie!

  • Crusier Tetron kind of looks like a deceptacon. Unless he doesn't. The he's just a kick-ass robot.!

  • I like how my first thought when you got the Blade was "...THE GHOST OF KING".

  • Annihilation mode is brutal! I'm stuck on the third boss in the game on that mode. If you don't know what i'm talking about, I'll let you know when you get there.

  • @TheStrongBadMan You made it to the third boss? I'm barely past the first!

  • Great Let's PLay. The game is awesome. The soundtrack is kicks ass inded, I even uploaded it to YT in order to spread its greatness.

    Can't wait to see more.

  • This game looks entertaining to watch. I'll definitely watch more. I really like the graphics style of this game. It gives it that retro feeling.

  • I've already beat this game since this video was posted yesterday. But the different modes are awesome. I don't believe in autofire either.

  • Hell yeah, HeroCore is done!! :D

  • "Die, monster! You don't belong in this...futuristic shooter?"

No pacifist runs in this one, I'd wager.

  • Looks like an interesting game.

  • Return of Hero 3D enemies and protagonist

  • Oh it's out!? Ooh.

  • It seems that every time that DC pretends to not know something, he says, "Surely, they do not exist."

  • Can I make a guess for how this game ends?

  • @Icerama108 No, because if you're right, that would be spoilers.

    You Monster.

  • @DeceasedCrab I'm not a monster! Your a monster! A Monster Party monster!

  • IJI was awesome, i loved watching it and playing it

  • Haven't seen this game before and it already catches my interests, can't wait to see more.

  • I remember watching the awesome trailer for this about a month ago, but I kept forgetting to play it recently. I'd like to keep any game references out of the loop, too, since it definitely has been run into the ground. I'm finally playing it now. Are you using the keyboard or a controller for this, DC?

  • A nice, epic feel to the music. I definitely approve. Also, thank you DeceasedCrab for not playing these things blind. We love you for it.

  • New DC! I'm excited!

  • oh ho ho! Excellent choice.

  • Wow, this game looks really fun. And its simplistic art design is refreashing, to say the least. I also really, really love the ability to just warp to save points whenever you want to. More games that use save points need that ability.

  • Is there any realistic way to beat the hunter-killer boss with level 4 shields and a level 3 blaster or should I just dodge him until he leaves?

  • @DimJim12 You can beat him with level 2 blaster. Why are you having trouble here? You should WANT to kill him.

  • @DeceasedCrab Shortly after beating Tetron I ran into the Eliminator again and beat him. The times before that he escaped.

I also noticed that the more computers you get the more frequently he shows up, but you probably already know that.

  • More DC videos! And people say you're lazy! They don't know anything!

  • Why do robot cores shot shurikens?

  • Danger! Danger! Will- Cruiser Tetron has returned! Assault asteroid base! Liquid metal heat! You found a save point there- WHOA I thought you died then! Generator smash! Boss of army storage down! Cutter acquired! Head to control room Plasma Hydra, in the house Shooter upgraded!
  • Where do you find all these indie games, DC?

  • Wasn't expecting this :)

Cruiser Tetron was indeed named after a LifeForce boss me and my brother couldn't beat as kids. Section Z, LifeForce, H.E.R.O. and Metroid are the game's main inspirations.

  • @Ultimortal Dude, every time you come out with a game this awesome, it is a privilege to give it further exposure and show more people that this game exists (and how awesome it is).

Hard mode is brutal though. Brutal.

  • As is Annihilator mode

  • Also, did you download the update that was released on the exact day you posted this?

  • @MagikGimp ...Nope. Hopefully it's just a bugfix.

  • Why don't you play these blind? Or a better question might be "how do you give the impression both to us and yourself (otherwise wouldn't you surely get bored otherwise) that you are playing these games blind?"

  • @MagikGimp Why would/should I? How can you convince me that playing these blind would be more entertaining? How would you like it if I spent 7 videos running around in circles, getting frustrated (moreso), and not being funny?

  • @DeceasedCrab

Yeah, blind runs can be good on some games, but never on a metroid/castlevania style game.

  • @MagikGimp I'm not trying to convince you or otherwise, I was just asking a question out of interest. Personally I think I would still find it entertaining if you did but that's irrelevant. I want to know how you don't get bored basically. Actually you know, thinking back to Ys, you did and watching you being bored is also entertaining! You deliver on so many fronts dude! =)

  • awesome as always DC!

  • Yay :D More videos

  • I was just wondering yesterday when we were going to get another DeceasedCrab video. Then it happens. Coincidence?

  • @lepot23 No, this could not be a coincidence, because I too was wondering when DC would come out with another video, and sure enough, I looked, and here it is!

If you really want to know how deep the rabbit hole goes, I was ALSO wondering if anyone ELSE was wondering when DC would post a new video, and sure enough I find YOUR comment!

  • @lepot23 Probably.

  • Wasn't Cruiser Tetron the name of the giant fire-breathing dragon in Stage 3 of Life Force?

  • Yes! more DC videos. makes the day better.

  • This just goes to show how a simplistic game can be so enjoyable to play thanks to a great (and also simplistic) music track.

  • Interesting looking game, though I can imagine that the black and white graphics would hurt the eyes after a time...

  • Hero Core was released recently? Wow! I really need to download this. Thanks for uploading this and making me remember about Hero Core, DeceasedCrab.

  • Huzzzah! Something new from DC!.... Gosh darn it, now you have me saying it.

I wasn't that interested in trying this game out until you got to the hydra boss, now I just might.

  • This game looks amazingly fun...with an awesome soundtrack.

I look forward to seeing this played through.

  • Concidentally I just beat this game, now i'm working on going through Annihiation mode. I'm also very glad you're updating still, I was worried you had quit LP'ing all-together.

  • When I heard Daniel Remar, I was like "... OH THE GUY WHO MADE IJI :D"

  • Hey DC! Hold down against a wall for a while! It's awesome!

  • @Limehunter7 You know, I did try that, and I couldn't get it working.

  • You hafta hold down and one of the fire buttons. Do it multiple times too.

  • @DeceasedCrab Regarding the object in the room with the laser bars that never go down: it's a little finicky about working, but it's a pretty neat effect once you get it working. It's purely cosmetic (at least as far as I can tell), but is worth messing with.

  • Huh, didn't realize there was a new Daniel Remar game out. I hadn't checked since a little while after Iji came out, so this was a nice surprise. Thanks for the upload!

  • I may not supposed to say this or even compare, but this really feels like Metroid 2, journeying through SR388. Maybe that's just me.

  • Nice, another obscure find by DC.

    .

The caverns made me think of Solar Jetman.

  • When I heard of this game on TIGsource, I somehow knew DC would end up LPing it :D

  • This really does look like a great game. I was thinking Air Fortress when I saw the core, but I was also thinking Solar Jetman too. I also like how the author just chose white and black for the graphics. It's really cool in a minimalist sort of way. Great find, DC!

  • Wow this game look huge and very fun ! Another indie game you make me wanna play, thanks DC !

  • Great

  • More like Air Fortress with the number of shots that core took.

  • This game does have a neat look to it. Kinda takes me back to the Atari 2600, though the graphics ARE more detailed than that.

  • The hydra boss reminds of the other hydra boss in Maze of Galious.

  • Yeah, Hero definitely was released before Dark Void Zero. In any case, Hero Core looks to be a lot more entertaining than DVZ. Thanks for uploading.

  • Comment removed

  • You know it does look like a cross between Dark Void Zero and Metroid 2. Yet, I don't think Tetron was inspired by Dark Void Zero. And the music is awesome.

  • @darkstrider7 Pretty sure the original Hero came out before Dark Void Zero, and the Tetron design is the same in both games.

  • Yay DeceasedCrab is back!

  • Get up on the Hyd-*Shot*

Anyway, nice video. Can't wait for more.

  • @Adam5396 I was thinking more KILL THAT GLEEOK!

  • A Shooter Adventure-Platform that turns into bullet hell on higher difficulties? I gotta play it!

  • This game needs elevators

  • @bubbajimmy8 Well, they sorta have them...except they try to kill you.

  • This game looks awesome! When I saw you started a new Let's Play, it just made my day.

  • Let's get one thing clear: No spoilers. I still haven't beaten Hard or Annihilation modes. Don't spoil the secrets.

  • @DeceasedCrab

You are going to love Annihilation mode

  • When I played this game I was able to get that laser wall down.

  • Whoops, another Castletroid game! Since I am always looking for these, I must play it on my own.

  • I think those super laser cannons look almost exactly like the gun in StarTropics.

  • Reminds me of a Gameboy game, like for some reason Super Mario Land comes to mind.

  • You'll wanna try and beat Annihilation on your own time.

It gets pretty interesting, but it's incredibly difficult... Though if you /do/ beat it, you get something nice.

  • The music is surprisingly amazing.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer this new update schedule - it makes seeing a DC video appear an event. because you know you're in for an awesome couple of weeks as the latest game unfolds!

Interesting looking game. The only thing I can't quite wrap my head around is the perspective - is it 'side on' 2D, and your character has a freely useable jetpack, or is it an abstract top-down map a la Zelda and the like?

  • @MalusCalibur Side on 2D, otherwise you'd be able to shoot up or down.

  • Ah, good point. Thank you - I look forward to seeing more of the game.

  • It's funny that I was looking for Iji tips recently and noticed that Remar Games had a sequel for Hero. Then I go to Youtube and you have that sequel. You sir have read my mind. o_o

  • This game looks pretty dang fun, I think I'll download it! Might as well play something while I'm sick.

  • DeceasedCrab, this is rather random, but the way you respond to people makes me respect you a little bit more. xD

  • "No core to shoot, but there are mouths."

That's pretty much a general rule for life. If you shoot almost anything in the mouth enough it will die.

  • Thank you for giving me good games to play.

  • This reminds me of an old game called H.E.R.O.

  • @Crowley9 ....

  • @DeceasedCrab I'm serious. It came out in 1984 for multiple systems and you played an emergency rescue worker with a backpack helicopter seeking for people in a mineshaft.

  • It annoys me how you continue to find games I have no idea exist.

Curse you DeceasedCraaaaaaaaaaaaaaab *insert echo effect here*...!!!

  • It's always good to see you suddenly appear. I miss the days you pumped out a video each day.

  • Awesome a new DC video!

  • if he made iji maybe i should try it out for myself.

  • Great music, great game, great DC

  • A good alternative to Metroidvania is Exploration Platformer

  • @sloththemighty That IS pretty good.

  • Save animation is most epicly animated in this game :<

  • YAY!

  • @StaffSgtIanKelly hopefully

  • if you don't want to say metrovania or what not, try castletroid :)

  • @thebladeofchaos Ugh. Castleroid is even worse than Metroidvaniea. I like sloththemighty's term - Exploration Platformer.

  • @thebladeofchaos Castleroid sounds like a condition best left undescribed.

  • Yesss! You're back! We missed you!

  • YAY a new game!
