@dasfx Actually there are 9 episodes left untile the 2-Hour Finale. And we've seen 7 episodes, as the Premiere was a 2-Hour either. So the total amount is 18 episodes.
A theory of mine: The Man in Black/Monster has been trying to kill The Candidates since the show's beginning. In the Pilot episode, it tries to kill Jack in the cockpit. At the end of season 1, it tried to do to Locke what it has done now. I also think Mr. Eko was a candidate as well, because why would MIB go through the trouble of misleading him and killing him. Just a theory.
Don't count your chickens before they've hatched! I want Kate and Sawyer to be together, don't get me wrong, but Sawyer might be talking to Vincent and Kate might be smiling at Flocke.
