@bowlestrek So this means if I get Windows 7, I have both 32 and 64 bit separated disks or are they 2 in 1? Anyway, is Windows 7 better than Windows Vista? I don't wanna be getting this as a present if its crap.
Sorry to hear about that :( If it makes you feel any better the computer that I was using in this video blew up a month ago, now I'm temporarily stuck with a refurbished pc that's running Vista.
@megamillion12345 That sounds more like the drive is disconnected. Vista won't need a special driver to recognise the drive. Does the drive show up in the Bios and not in Vista?
neither. i once tried taking the whole drive out and putting it back in. doest matter anymore anyway, that laptop just had its screen and video card physically destroyed and got myself a new windows 7 pc. best moment of my life :D
ok i have a question, u got the 32 bit and the 64 bit upgrades on the video, does the same serial key works for both??? or u got 2 different keys???? thanks for taking the time... cheers
My HP notebook came with Vista home premium. Then I realized that it is so slow, and now I have to buy an upgrade. Windows Vista is a failure, and we end up paying for Microsoft's failure. Upgrade to Windows vista should be free of charge. This is an unfortunate situation.
HELP!! i need help. The hp website gives free windows 7 products only to people who bought their comp from June 26 to October something and i am one of them but i don't know what i need for proof of purchase because i lost my reciept HELP PLZ!!!
At the time I had a system with a ton of programs that wouldn't work with Vista, my computer got stuck in a reboot cycle. This upgrade was pretty smooth though, probably the easiest Windows upgrade since 3.1 to 95 actually.
Well, I ran the Vista Upgrade Advisor before I upgraded, and I only one possible software problem, but it was solved right after upgrade, same thing with Windows 7.
I fixed the problems that the adviser found, something got missed, never was able to find out what it was. Computer blew up two years ago, guess I'll never know now, I'm just glad this upgrade went without incident
Well, MS makes different versions for different people, so you don't get anything you don't want, unlike Apple, you get it all whether you need or want it, why I use Windows, as Apple's OS comes with a lot I really wouldn't use.
Well, all XP mode is a VM, which can be easily done with VirtualBox, but XP Mode/Virtual PC requires CPU hardware acceleration, which most CPU's don't have, you can enable it in VirtualBox as well, it's not a must like XP Mode.
I prefer VMWare fusion myself, but VirtualBox is ok too. I lost my legal full version of xp pro years ago. It was the included xp license that I liked. But I agree, it would not have worked until I bought my next pc, but it would have been nice to have with home premium.
can vista home basic upgrade to 7 starter or premium?

It only comes with one key, but 2 CDs because some people have more than 3GB of RAM so they need the x64 install.

You should go back to where you bought your pc, usually they would keep that stuff on file and would be able to print out a new receipt for you.

tnx i'll try to do that

if you are currently running a 32 bit version of vista would it be possible to do a clean install and upgrade to a 64 bit version of windows 7?
acidius 2 years ago
Yes, as far as I know as long as your computer suports 64 bit. The upgrade wizard should let you know if there's a problem.
bowlestrek 2 years ago
I installed Windows Vista just as smoothly as Windows 7, not one problem, and my system is a Pentium 4.

I saw how big the VMware software download was, and I was like wow.
Yea, maybe they might expand it eventually.
