@autochanges Well, I'm not a beginner and I'm not training her myself. Lots of people have been helping and we're always open to advice (from people we know.) Also she is not completely green. She was trained on the track as a two year old. She's just been doing nothing for 8 years. So thanks for your concern.
P.S. I don't think people should leave their criticism in such rude ways ;D.
@HoofHeartedd Thank you Kendraaaaa :) <3 I cantered her again yesterday and she was even better! :) I will get clips soon of doing proper work in the arena! (Possibly today? :S)
aww, shes looking amazing! your so nice and patience and i love that! i hate people that rush there horses into things there not ready and the fact you never kept her going .You should be proud :) Robyn xx
@robynqq555 I am proud :) And thank you very much! I was encouraging her to keep going but not forcing her. And she came out without me asking her the one time so I just went again until I asked her to come back to trot. But our transitions will get a lot better as we practice more :)
For a first canter under saddle, this is sooo amazing! I really can't stress that enough, and even though I've never really trained a horse, it looks really hard and it's awesome to see people taking their time and patience on them :)
@Laurzie24 Thank you so much! This wasn't the absolute FIRST one. But this was minutes after. It can definitely be difficult when they just don't know what you're trying to get them to do. But you just gotta be patient and find the best way to tell them what you want and reward them when they do what you want :)
i love how you ride her! a lot of people will turn to crops, spurs, and kicking when training green horses that might not understand, but you stay patient :). also love how you talk to her!
cant believe she picked up the right lead too! most off track tbs only pick up the left cause when racing they go left then change to the right heading down the homestretch. shes a beautiful horse!!!
@Fall0utAtTheDisco Thank you very very much :D <3 I love talking to her and it helps a lot. Plus she has a tendency to go ADD on me and so I'm always trying to keep her attention ;)
Well she never raced she was only trained at the track :) Sometimes she gets her leads messed up when cantering around in the round pen, like she will get the right one in the front but wrong in the back but she's getting better :)
wow your making great progress.. she looks like a very sweet mare! you a very calm, nice rider :) i hate it when people think kicking the hell out of them is the answer, its really nice to see people doing it properly!!xxx
@EmAndPico09 This made me so happy :D Thank you sooo much! Yeah I hate that too :/ I mean geez when they're green they don't even know what that means.
@mydestinydog Well you teach them on the ground by practicing transitions to and from a canter, horses naturally know how to canter you just have to teach them how to know when you want them to canter. And we're still working on that.
I dont think a beginer should be training a horse!!!
