I haven't followed your videos but when I saw one of your videos in november and then found out what this was all about it put my mind on track to lose weight and get fit, its working, had a healthy christmas for once and i've lost a whole stone but seem to be staying at roughly the same weight as I start to build up muscle as I lose the fat. Hopefully will start dropping weight again soon.
keep it up dude, your making changes in a lot of peoples lives by showing that anyone can do this :)
keep at it! i just subscribed, and i want to see you take this thing to the limit! come back even stronger, and healthier than you were prior to starting the fat phase. YOU GOT THIS!!
What should I do?!!! I've been stuck at the same weight and waist measurements for 3-4 weeks. I've adjusted my calories from 1800 to 2300, but am burning almost 2000 cal. 5 days per week at the gym. I don't want to eat more or exercise less. Will my body kick out of starvation mode or should I just deal with eating more?
If you're trying to say you're supporting weight loss by doing it yourself a: it's been done, and b: unless you maintain the weight for a few months losing it will be a piece of cake since you were so fit before.
@edenvaletoys if you took a little time to watch the very foirst video you'd know why he's doing and you'd also know that he's aware it's not exactly the same it gives you a pretty good taste of what it's like.
I'm sure it is hard for Drew to lose weight so slowly; it really is harder to lose weight than to gain it. I get discouraged when progress is slow but Drew inspires me to never give up and keep working at it!! I can't see the little changes in me, but I can see them in Drew, so that helps to know too.
I used to do alot of workout, but i stopped.. I'll start again doing workout! Thanks for giving me the spirit and making me remember i need to workout! :D
im just posting this as a reply to my previous post i eat 1380 calories a day but what i do i have cut out stuff like bread, pop ect im more eating full grain stuff alot of chicken istead of red meat also eating lean meat and also im never hungry at the end of the day
Also mate, you probably need to consider doing a refeed within the next couple of weeks. Caloric deprivation over the long term messes with your body as much as caloric excess does. Trust me I know from experience - more colds, more interrupted sleep, lower hydration... goes on and on. So yeah, doing a couple of weeks where you take in just above your basal metabolic rate in calories will probably kick your weight loss into gear again.
Also, I agree with the peeps... your six pack is returning
@ANeonTiger The idea mate is that you diet for 12 weeks, lose weight and then take a 2 week break so you let your metabolism recover. Then you do another 12 weeks of dieting. It's not rocket surgery.
@roflex2 It's stuff based off studies into helping anorexics recover (which seems counter-intuitive). Nutritional science is imprecise in the best of cases and is more of a best guess anyway. That and it tends towards doctrine anyway. So yes, take what I say as bro science - it doesn't bother me. However, answer this question: If you deprive your self of sleep for 12 weeks (Only 3-4 hours a night), what is the outcome? Why would depriving your body of nutrition be any different?
@roflex2 Don't get me wrong though, I believe that a caloric deficit is the only way you can really lose weight. The reason that I bring up the metabolic recovery comes down to the fact that I lived on a caloric deficit for 5 years whilst I dropped 50kg's. In each of those years, I got several colds with some turning into chest infections. I take the advice I specified and BAM no serious colds for 8 months and counting plus better sleep and 4kg more lost. It ain't generalised but worked for me.
A pound is still quite good. I am betting you probably lost 3 - 4 pounds of body fat and increased muscle. Also, welcome to the plateau mate. You'll need to radically mix up your nutrition and work outs if you want to start dropping large numbers again. Finally, I reckon that when you get back to your 3 - 8% body fat goal that you will probably weigh 10 - 15kg more than you did when starting the challenge because ironically you would have built muscle when supporting your extra weight.
@rastamandreday He's looking better each week, but six pack? Looks more like a mini keg to me.
Great work Drew, I got a lot farther to go than you but I'm making progress. I've eat more chicken and turkey that Colonel Sanders in the past 12 weeks.
@Allistar123 aroud 86kg im eating healty tho like im never hungry or anything i eat foods with a low calorie intake. such as i dont eat bread instead i eat some full grain thing with egg and youghurt ect
Body weight in both humans and animals is INVOLUNTARILY controlled thorugh extremely complex neural circuitry.
