Really, I was joking, I know this is newtonian physics. In fact, I can't come up with a practical way of implementing a relativistic game engine after thinking about it these weeks.
@crim3cost Actually, this simulation is only taking into account Newtonian physics. Otherwise the trip wouldn't have taken almost any time due to relativistic effects occurring when traveling so close to the speed of light.
@Penguin87 yes, very true! I was toying with the idea of a gaming engine with relativistic physics. That would allow to change the value of 'c' and see all kind of weird (for us) effects.
The truth is that it would be really interesting. Ridiculous low c values in such an engine would allow people to get used to relativistic effects and clear up all the myth around Einstein's theories.
Doesn't matter, relativistic. And to answer, "Who cares?" Why post on youtube, why browse the internet, why talk with others? Just to know other opinions and have edifying conversations. Also porn. That too.
@ZE0SPantera Uhm... they weree set to "speed of light"... if you went "faster" you would be "faster then the speed of light"... fail personal advertisment fail.
Must zoomout to galaxy viewing.

if this was relativistic, the journey would have taken no time at all according to the light.

@mckseal And colors would change due to Doppler effect. But what if its the Earth traveling at speed of light towards viewer? :)

@GoRaGeBbit
Doesn't matter. Light is constant. :P

is this really 300.000 km/s ? i allways thought that at this vel. the earth would dissapear instantly from the view with a normal fov.
pepeluilly 1 year ago
@pepeluilly Well it takes 1.2s for light to reach Moon, and Earth is visible nicely from there

The first gaming engine in implementing relativistic physics instead of newtonian :)

@Penguin87 yeah but we already have that video. It's a black screen of 0 size of 0:00 length

you have no idea what you are talking about :)

@Penguin87
Correction, the trip would have taken exactly no time.
mckseal 1 week ago
@mckseal Assuming that the acceleration was instantaneous, yes.

Yep, science!
mckseal 1 week ago
@mckseal Unless it was Earth which was travelling and not the observer. In any case, who cares?

Eh, My game engine would go faster then that.

@jjfan4824 I know I could do at least a million times the speed of light.. And my engine would make cookies and have clouds.
lol

@jjfan4824 I troll the OT forums constantly and have been pretty much first poster on all the videos. So Cameni gets it.
