Two comments:

(1) Goddammit I have never heard this song before, and

(2) Emmylou Harris has just an otherworldly voice for harmonies. Truthfully I am not a huge fan of her voice as a lead singer, but I don't know of another voice that blends and supports better for harmonies.

@nlandess I totally agree. even when she sings with Willie Nelson it just becomes magic. Trio is fantastic, and I'm sure Linda Ronstadt and Dollie Parton are not the easiest folks to sing with. But I love all three.

As a new fan of Emmylou's , I had to agree that I felt the same way about her being better with harmonies . But if you listen to Pieces of the Sky , I believe it was her first album , that version of Boulder to Birmingham and Too Far Gone are some of the most beautiful vocals I have ever heard - those songs won me over as a fan of Emmylou's.

I just bought Transatlantic One and Three from music Scotland website. Prices and shipping were reasonable. I believe One is out of print. This song is my favorite of ALL of the three sessions. There's a lot a beautiful music there and the most talented acoustic musicians in the world.

All of the six half-hour programmes from the BBC/RTÉ TV series are included, recorded in a beautiful old converted farm steading in the Perthshire Highlands.
