Funny thing, I told someone that a Harvard study that was published said that 44,000 people die for lack of health care. In a interview with William Shatner, on his show "Raw Nerve", Rush Limbaugh suggested that it is entirely fair that if someone cannot afford healthcare, they should not have it.

For Limbaugh, if one is wealthy then the luxury is within one's reach. If not, there's no moral reason whatsoever for society to provide any means to assist the underprivileged (middle class?) in affording quality health treatment.

In Limbaugh's view, the wealthy get to decide whether the poor should live or die.

Personally I think we need to do something about the poor health care in this country but I am currently serving in the military and have put my life on the line numerous times for the freedom we truly deserve and I don't think its fair for me to have to now put the little money that I get back into now sacrificing so someone else can have health coverage the problem is with the rich insurance companies lining their pockets make them pay not me!!!!

I'm a normal guy too but I can't get health care because I haven't paid hundreds for health care a year.  I want to understand what is so bad about making sure everyone can see a doctor. I don't know what is the point when is the right time to make sure everyone is healthy. Many americans can't go to see a doctor cause they won't see them. People go to canada to buy medicine illegally and this is not a problem? I just want to understand why this is being fought against so fervently.

People need to take resposnsibilty in their hands, and provide their own care if an employer doesn't. Where i work with terminally ill patients seeking high tech treatment, if you are poor when you come in, there are tons of programs to give you gas money, food money, free meds, and even free treatment.. (40,000 dollar tx), if you have money, you are expected to pay your bill, or lose what ya got.. The burden always falls on the middle class.

Ive worked for a hospital for ten years.. NO ONE has ever been turned down for care.. I used to work in the ER. If they couldnt pay the bill, the hospital takes a hit, its called bad debt... We have the best health care system in the entire world.. with government run health care you wont get the latest greatest equipment or the high tech surgery. Your comment is so far off base im not sure how to even comment.. No one gets a bonus check. I have worked for a hospital for years and we had 33 million dollars of unpaid debt last year. No one was tossed in the street. Every single person was treated. If you have good insurance the hospital makes more off you when you get sick cause they get paid.. If you are poor, you get treated and the hospital writes it off as bad debt if you cant pay. And no one gets bonuses depending on pt. numbers

I had high deductible, "just in case", major medical health insurance. Then I had a health emergency in Canada. They saved my life with state of the art health care. Total cost, around $70,000. My major medical paid a total of about $1400. Goodby Prudential, give me single payer. My bride is Canadian. She knows what works.
