Federal funds were banned because of the Defund Acorn Act passed in 2009 that banned all corporations from receiving federal money with legal charges against them which included defense contractors and other big corporations. There's a program called the "DC Opportunity Scholarships Program." It provides vouchers for poor, minority children there, and it helps them achieve a quality education. I've seen some videos where they took some inner city black kids, taught them about business, and they were really interested in learning how they could create something to pull them out of poverty.

Federal funds were banned because of the Defund Acorn Act passed in 2009 that banned all corporations from receiving federal money with legal charges against them which included defense contractors and other big corporations. In fact over 60 corporations were banned from receiving money when this act was passed. This law happened before the charges Acorn were dropped but damage was already done.

Seriously...the plantation today are the projects and public schools. Keep them uneducated and then unemployable with minimum wage laws, but offer more and more entitlements that kills the incentive to work and maintain stable families and just keep raking in the votes. It's sad. I've seen some videos where they took some inner city black kids, taught them about business, and they were really interested in learning how they could create something to pull them out of poverty.
