  • @e1853b you are very dumb..... a guy from muscle mustangs and fast fords pulled an 11.8 in the quarter with a stock gt500 no mods no tires. and it was only a 2010. If it was a 2011 it would,ve ran 11.7 or lower and the gt500 still costs less than both so why not put a pulley and a tune. i wouldnt ever consider getting a regular c6 corvette. I wouldve gotten the C6 Z06 or a ZR1 if i even wanted one.

Thats not bashing a stock Z06, it is almost complimenting it. I would love to see where to buy a new Vette for 35k? I suggest before you S#1+ talk you learn to properly address the facts and the comment you are addressing. Until then give your dad back the keys to the Vette.

  • First of all, I have a 2007 GT500, which stock has almost 50hp less than this car and there is no way that pedal is on the floor in this video. I can roll at 50mph in second gear and when I mash the gas it blows the tires away until third gear (Almost 75mph). First gear is worthless without a drag radial. Car went 11.86 with a blower pulley, tune and CAI. Paid 34k for the car. Lets see if we can find an import that runs in the 11s for 34k and doesn't sport a rainbow sticker from the factory.

  • no se en que condiciones hacen ese tipo de pruebas a nivel del mar?, por que la verdad no creo que sea con un microsat, son muy erroneos los numeros, el 0 a 100 el precioso gt500los realiza en 6 seg, una cifra mas que brutal, ya que es superior en aceleraciones a rivales indirectos, como un m3 m5,rs4,rs6,r8 etc, el doble de caros, y eso que patina las llantas al acelerar, seguro que con unas llantas slicks bajaba alos 5 seg, nadie le hace sombra, RICK AND SVT

  • los datos son de un microsat, un juez frio y duro, el gt500 realizo los 100 en 6.03 seg, ford afirma que lso hace en 4 seg, pero eso es en situaciones extremadamente ideales, como ya as de saber, pero en condiciones normales, como en una ciudad, el ford se queda en 6 seg, una cifra muy respetable y abrumadora, mas rapido que los autos que ya puse, no se como agan sus mediciones los de este video, pero dudo que los agan con al menos un dinamometro, checa que es un microsat brother, bye bye

  • who cares about the 0-60............ it's the quarter mile that counts......... it's faster in the quarter mile and it corners better than the previous mustang. Ford still uses the old mosaic technology, and yet still it out handles cars that are modern and much more expensive. I say Ford stepped up their game. I like the mustangs because they are well within budget, and they are cheap and easy to modify. You want a mustang that handles? $5000. and you're mustang will out handle at the track...

  • not even 5,000 bucks. just slap on that fr3 suspension kit from ford racing, some light weight ford racing wheels, good years eagle tires and a kenne belle super charger and ur good 2 go. that will come to around 2500 bucks

Here in Indianapolis lies the contradiction, sure the racing capital of the world, but it seems grass roots racing is expensive due to the lack of competing shops. I think ill come to NY. lol.

  • its not even a race car. i take my 06 gt to ford racing division store and they have every possible type of mustang you could want. they had racing circuit stangs, drag stangs, they even had sleeper stangs. if u dont like the car keep it to ur self no one wants to here ur negativity on a truly amazing car.

  • They had an s917 Shelby not the 2010 Gt500 on Top Gear. It wasn't the GT500 that beat the CSL and Viper, it was an S197 Stage 3 Roush Mustang which is about 300lbs lighter then the GT500. BTW they didn't hate the Roush, Clarkson has a Ford GT and a Roush in his garage.

  • You are correct that it was the 2008 gt500. not this 2010 on top gear. but it was the gt500 that lapped faster then the csl. Right after it was run as usual the time was placed on the board. Right above the CSL and STi. The Roush while a nice car is not a GT500. All truly irelevant, fact is the car does quite well for what it is. Looks like the 2010 takes that up a notch. By the way no matter who tests this car no matter how much they say its heay etc, they always have a huge smile driving it.

  • Hammond drove a blue GT500, then Jeremy compared a Roush to the GT500, then they had a silver Roush against a Lotus with the Stig driving the Lotus. After they had a Blue GT500 driving by the Stig with a time of 1:30, slower then a WRX faster then a Golf R32. With only 415HP, the Roush destroyed the Gt500 with 1:28 beating CSL, Viper SRT10, 911S. Just do a youtube search "mustang gt500 top gear" click on the 9min version ;)

  • I'm a GM man and a big Camaro fan but I will respect any good car.

    The 2010 GT500 is an awesome car and a great performance bargain. Still not a huge fan of the new rear tailights but they are starting to grow on me. The thing that makes a car like the GT500 great is how easy it is to mod them. Pully and bolt-ons can net over 100rwhp gain. Hell they will handle about 800rwhp on stock internals. Some have handled up to 1,000rwhp with a great tune.

  • Hmm... Check out the video called "Fast New Shelby Mustang GT500 Full Test" by InsideLineVideo. They got 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and 4.0 w/roll out. I'm guessing they had a better driver at that time?

  • I personally would take that 46k and get a lightly used (10 to15k miles) 08 model and spend around 18 to 20K buying it and then spend the rest on upgrades. I would have a faster, better handling, unique mustang. Just my opinion :)

  • If you look at the Mustang vs Camaro vs Challenger video by motortrend, the Mustang GT, pulls off almost the same numbers, other then the 0-60 which isn't far off.

    I think this car was a dud.

Insideline already did a test and got better times, 0-60 of 4.3, 4.0 with rollout. Why did they do this again? And how did the car get slower? Can I get a reply insideline? please I believe the first video as a 4.6 0-60 is very low for this car.
