  • I love it :)

  • Then this ebony bird beguilging my sad fancy into smiling,

By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,

'Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, 'Art no craven,

Ghastly grim ancient Raven wandering from the nightly shore-

Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!'

    Quoth the Raven, 'Nevermore'

  • I have listened this years before i can't believe i'm listening to it again. this doesn't give me goosebumps it amazes me +w+

  • *looks at arm* goose bumps.... :D

  • Great writing music :-)

  • Am I the only one who feels in love with Joseph..?

  • quite simply. all music out there. rap rock classical. wutever it is. these guys are the best. Joseph vargo and co.

  • amazing, simply fantastic

  • i was reading Edgar Allen Poe at a very young age,it concerned my parents when i began writing of death and the beauty with in darkness at age 5.But when I never lost first place in the young authors contest in school, they suddenly began to except and see my talents.music like this helps me stay in my writer's mood and a few dark poets helped give me the passion to write.some day i shall complete my dream to be published.

  • I remember memorizing the raven in 5th grade for class. Personally, my favorite poem of Poe's is The Bells, and my favorite story (so far) is Hop-Frog. I love Nox Arcana's work and i'm starting to work on getting all their music.

  • Im totally obsessed with Nox arcana x. x

  • @awesomeness00121 So am I, and three weeks ago I didn't even know they exist. That's the part of youtube I do love - you encounter the most beautiful music you've never heard before

  • @awesomeness00121 You're not alone buddy. Join the club :) ...Best wishes from another Nox fan!

  • I like Omnia's version better

  • makes me liket this bitter black coffee.....More Please xD

  • I am really enjoying the music. I am listening to the playlist while writing. It is so beautiful and inspiring. Wow!

  • I use this when creating my art very inspiring music.

  • Poe is my all-time favorite poet, and Nox Arcana is quickly entering the list of my top 10 favorite bands.

  • this just seems work perfectly with the poem making the poem and the music even more creepy. love it

  • Hauntingly Beautiful!

  • The way i love you as your beautiful to me the river flows in the love. What do i live for the love you never will give me no more i stand for you to love me one more time i will never for get you my . I m only afraid of losing you and the love that you can only give me

  • Perfect <3

  • Great music!

  • Reminds me of the theme to Halloween. I'll have to check out more Nox Arcana.

  • Tim Burton needs them for a movie soundtrack

  • @ter50 Tim Burton makes creepy movies :<

  • my god! these people really CREATE!!!

  • can you send me the beat

  • Comment removed

  • @chaoticshatter This is a musical composition, not a "beat." Using any part of it without the consent of Nox Arcana is a copyright violation.

  • can u send me the beat

  • can you send this to me

  • AAMMAAZZIINNGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this music,Nox Arcana is so beautiful so melodious so inspirational.

  • 10 Justin Bieber Fans watched this Vid.^^

  • seasonofshadows . com/chaos/preserved.htm

I found this just as I was listening to this. Insane.

  • `Haha, The sentence with the raven, reminded me on the simpsons halloween episode x] When Lisa tells that story :3

  • Charlie Clousers music sounds similar to this.......

  • In actuality you don't have to be a goth to like this music

  • I love the photo it gos with this song

  • I think art has only one intended meaning for the artist, but there's also nothing wrong with interpretation.

The very end of this creeps me the hell out. Cremation ftw.

  • I am feeling my emotions again with this song

  • esto si es musica

  • Alas, my darling nevermore.....I love Poe. I hate people who act like they know everything about him, and think they understand exactly what he means in every poem/story. It just ticks me off when people are arrogant enough to believe that the literature has a different meaning for everyone...there is only 1 intended meaning!!

  • @emmilittlemuffin Ah, but many authors, Poe included, could have meant for the readers of their poems to interpret them in different ways. Your statement was an absurd declaration in my opinion. I actually believe that when people try to find the one meaning of any poem, and declare that their meaning is correct, are arrogant known it all's. No one, no one, can know what was going in the mind of the author unless he wrote what HE meant by it exactly.

  • poe for the win!~

  • so beautiful

  • they are mine too! i thought i was just weird for being able to fall asleep to music like this, but i guess i'm not the only one. i just like this stuff so much.

  • i find nox arcana to be so peaceful. i love listening to them.

  • @aquakitty57

Same here. Nox arcana and "the ring soundtrack" by hans zimmer are my going to bed music.

  • You can feel his madness in this music.

  • :) I like the ending....plus the Edgar Allen Poe poem...

  • Beautiful song... and can you tell me where did u get that pic? i've been looking for it for a long time (sorry for my bad english)

  • @Mechanical1Eddy your english is better than 90% of the american population so dont apologize

  • I just now noticed that some of their song titles are of poems from Edgar Allen poe

  • @TXgamePRO The whole album is a tribute to E.A.Poe, I think the album is called The Shadow of the Raven. I had a similar discovery, took me a short while as well.

  • completamente perfeito

  • that reading at the end, what is that? A poem completely unrelated to the song or a part of it?

  • @FireflyFanatic3 the poem the man is reading is called The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe and this song was based from that poem. Lenore, Nevermore, and The Raven are all songs based on that poem. read it and you will understand ^^

  • @tsukasa1102 thank you :)

  • @tsukasa1102

I agree but also the very end when the man is is begging for help seems like its connected to "A Cask of Amontillado" [which is also by Poe]

  • Comment removed

  • @MakiPhoenix lol true but i looked around and there is another short story poe wrote called The Premature burial which is probably what it was based on since you can hear a person shoveling dirt onto the coffin if you turn it up loud enough and listen for it but the cask is also a story i enjoyed reading as well as the pit and the pendulum. poe is my favorite writer of all personally.

  • muy buena musica muy profunda llega al sentimiento

  • Beneath the Massacre has a song called Nevermore.

  • A ten havran černošedý stále sedí, stále sedí,

    Ve svých drápech stále svírá Palladiny bílé líce;

Jeho pohled nitro plení, je to démon, propad' snění,

    Jeho stíny v divném chvění plovou, na zem padajíce;

A má duše z těchto stínů, jež se chvějí, padajíce,

    Nevystoupí - nikdy více!

  • this reminds me of a tragic love story, wandering through the castle of darkness, searching for your one true love. every turn a wrong one. u hear him speak in the distance "muirn beatha dan", it fades slowly as you decend the staircase, seeing his figure laying down, half dead. you kneel by his side, taking his hand. and before he passes, he points behind you. but you are too late. he got you. LIKE if u like this story

  • @emortality13 I like it, but what does 'muirn beatha dan" mean?

  • @LaFemmeDemon Seems like it would be "I love you", i am pretty sure beatha is love in one form or another of Gaelic.

  • @runicrules Thank you! I love Gaelic. I use to do a lot of Celtic singing in concerts and stuff and there were some really awesome Gaelic lyrics. :)

  • that last part of the premature burial, the voice. it made me cry. i did a video on the story for school. it wasnt fantastic because were only 8th graders but for what it was, i was extremely proud.

  • At the beginig i tought it was the exorcist music :D

  • I play a hunter on a game called World of Warcraft and she has a pet raven, what else could I call him but Nevermore :D

  • my paretns are gonna be P.Oed to find me listeing to this but its to cool!!!

  • "Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil!

By that Heaven that bends above us- by that God we both adore-

Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,

It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore-

Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore."

    Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

  • I wish they didn't use synthesized instruments. :(

  • what album is this?

  • @Mykittyisaninja shadow of the raven

  • can anyone tell me some band like this , i searched but couldn't find anything. I really like this and want to check other stuff

  • @Heimist Dark sanctuary. Even if with vocals it changes a lot, but it's also this kind of atmosphere

  • Good music

  • Quoth the Raven: NEVERMORE.

  • "Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend," I shrieked, upstarting -

"Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!

Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!

Leave my loneliness unbroken!- quit the bust above my door!

Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!"

    Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

  • @hiccuplover12 i love this poem :)

  • Apparently it hasn't occurred to anybody that liking decent music set in a classical style isn't exclusive to the goth community.

  • @Iblisor Agreed

  • @Iblisor seriously. this ain't just emo sh!t y'all. :P

  • Comment removed

  • @Iblisor i agree totally, im a haordressing student and i used get bullied by goths and told im not allowed to listen to their music... its terrible. I still listen to it though, ive always loved classical music, and i think Nox Arcana are amazing. The atmosphere they set is amazing.

  • @Iblisor yep

  • @Iblisor Right.....

  • @Iblisor Goths like good music?

  • @Iblisor your right about that

  • @Iblisor You couldn't be more correct about that. Although I myself do admit to being goth, I know several people who like this kind of music and they have nothing to do with the subculture whatsoever

  • You have my undying gratitude for this brilliant music! You define a shade of grey which the world tragically lacks and always fears to look into when it comes into sight!

  • wonderfull music, every single Nox Arcana track has something in there that makes it a gem to listen to.

  • Creepy ending. Well done.

  • I love New Age Dark Ambient.

  • Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."

  • the begining remembers me about the music to halloween with signoury weaver ( the guy with the hockey mask *S*).

  • The intro made me remember Dream Theater

  • A reverence to The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe I'm assuming just off of the name?

  • I like rap but when it comes 2 the point that im high i like this kind of music the best.

    d[-_-]b

  • @joker3ize agreed

  • This is just amazing

    They're one incredible band!

  • better if you didnt have that silent gap in between things.....and even having the raven reciting during the music be cool.....but still good song

  • That shit is trippy at the end!

  • cool!

  • sounds like "Halloween"

  • And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting

    On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;

And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,

    And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;

And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor

    Shall be lifted - nevermore!

  • @QelPL the raven, from edgar allen poe, a wonderful piece of art!!!

  • quot the Raven:Nevermore...

  • O.o Holy Hell that was......a night mare in te making...xD O.o but I got a moments inspiration for a small story line after hearing it....oddly.

  • This is awesome!

  • dead GOD that was creepy at the end. O_O

    fucking awesome.

  • i Think about Kefka when i listen to their songs :P

  • hella awesome

  • I love the song and the first poem!!^^

But the end is really freaky! o.O

Sounds like someone having been buried alive... O.O

  • @betao567 That's a Reference to the short story by Edgar A. Poe "The Cask Of Amontillado".

  • This is beautiful. I spent an hour and a half trying to find some really good moody music to listen to and just..they're perfect.

  • wow this is so beautiful good job I love it

  • Does anyone know who is narrating/reading the last part of "The Raven"?

  • @WillieDines1 Joseph Vargo does the voice, as he does in all of Nox Arcana's narrative pieces.

  • @TARDISification

    Cool, thanks man :)

I thought it would have been cool to hear him read out the entire poem in that narrative voice as it would sound very cool :)

Thanks once again man, I appreciate it :)

  • @WillieDines1 He should have recited the poem while the music was playing. That would have made it more exciting

  • @plptypscp

I have been thinking the same thing, each time I hear this track :) lol

  • They finish with a final twirl apart their hands still clasped together and slowly let go as white gloomy grey their color becomes and just like mist fade the only sound is of the grandfather clock striking twelve... The blood, the bodies, everything disapeared except for the clock that is dusty and old from age...it's hands forever on twelve o clock.......

  • The man lowers his head to her neck in a kiss... The woman winces in pain and pleasure. As they twirl and dance to their upcoming finale they pass by the in tact glass door of the new grandfather clock showing the reflection...of no one...

  • He steps closer and grabs her hand twirling her suddenly her simple frock changes to that of a beautiful black with a red wrap...they dance in rythmn to the echoed song of this tune...as it mysteriously plays without any explaination...their love for each other shown with every dance they pass by shards of glass that reflects the girl.

  • He comes up to the stunned girl who's tears of happiness that he was alive shown. He hugs her the broken pocket watch of her dead arranged fiancé glistened showing the the reflection of her...the butler is wearing a rich mans suit his hair styled handsomely

  • He comes up to the stunned girl who's tears of happiness that he was alive shown. He hugs her the broken pocket watch of her dead arranged fiancé glistened showing the the reflection of her...the butler is wearing a rich mans suit his hair styled handsomely

  • It was dark and gloomy the mansion seemed to be broken in some way....she walks in to find glass everywhere stained in crimson and the floors leading to the ballroom she goes upstairs into the room. Turning the knob to the blood covered door. She sees him her love standing as covered in blood that isn't his and her families bodies cold icy forms on the floor

  • Her butler a young...strange gentleman was the only thing she ever looked forward to talking to she loved him as he did her though the parents would never allow it...one day she came home

  • ...a beautiful girl does her daily ruotines. Back in the day of carriages and glamour of the simple kind. She is a girl of much wealth. Her family expected the highest of her and treated her terribley if she didn't live to their expectations...

  • midnight Syndicate is much better besides this is a rip off of the exorcist theme song... very very reminiscent...

  • it's strange, almost mystical how music with no words can tell so much

I think this is how music was meant to be ... no DJs, no nasal singers, no voice editing, no sexy music vids ... just the beauty of the music

Nox Arcana demonstrate this just perfectly ...

  • Deep into the darkness peering, long I stood there,

    wondering, fearing,

    doubting,

  • This is so cool! and I love the end!!! :D

  • whoookay the end is scary. Ô.o

  • this song reminds me of the batman animated theme song

  • Beautiful.

    Absolutely. Beautiful.

  • my favourite goth band-project

  • Nox Arcana is not your usual Gothic Composer(s), THey are the best of the best

  • i love this song i listen to it a lot. the latin phrase in this song 'requiem aeternum dona eis domine' means 'grant them eternal rest, lord'

  • Call yourself a Goth, where were you when we sacked Rome?

  • yes that is true. that is the definition of goth. however wether anyone likes it or not goth is known to society as a dark style of dress and there is a society that goes with it. Art music makeup all categorized as goth.

  • Goth; noting or pertaining to a style of architecture, originating in France in the middle of the 12th century and existing in the western half of Europe through the middle of the 16th century, characterized by the use of the pointed arch and the ribbed vault, by the use of fine woodwork and stonework, by a progressive lightening of structure, and by the use of such features as flying buttresses, (gargoyles) ornamental gables, crockets, and foils.

  • Ugh, the ending! *massive shudder*

  • now i end my session of comments by giving a spoiler, mister vargo and william will be composing a new nox arcana album, the title is Theatre Of illusion it is slated for release this summer

  • now sideriel's comment about goths, i am not being mean at all when i speak of your view of the term goth i just simply say what it truely is, goth is not defined as depression if your depressed your just depressed goth is not a fashion eaither it has meaning and it has a subculture and not all goths live by it i am one of those goths but you should still understand the subculture youcant be what you fail to understand. i know your not goth im just correcting you, if i precieved itwrong im sorry

  • i have wonderful news as i also have somthing to say about sideriel's comment about goth being depressing. first the good news i wrote moonlight graphics in hopes of joseph vargo (composer and artist of nox arcana) seeing my paining i made from him, he told me he was so flatured by the painting and he gave me 2 painting tips which i think would be rude to share seeing how this is my message from him, then he told me a little of how nox arcana was done, so i am very happy about that

  • i just love these guys

  • Delightfully chilling, especially the Premature Burial fragment. Nox Arcana never ceases to please.

  • As a culture, Goth is supposed to be gloomy (by definition of the word). Some may find it depressing. By definition of the word, Goth is also old.

I was actually defending you, since Goth explores the darkness.

    *shrug*

    Think cryptically before you swear.

  • Goth is depressing only because it is old. Even happy New Age people get old and depressed.

"And lo! The bird is on the wing".

    (Khayyam)

  • As she slowly walks up the stairs, awaiting her guest, her lover, her secret, she feels a whisper of air go by, touching every detail of her cheek, flawless. The night goes by, time wasted. Waiting. Nothing. Wonder?

A tear hits the floor, but its not hers. She spins around, her satin light blue dress wrapping around her legs, a blanket of safety. No one. Silence.

  • bravo.... bravisimo.... is the best that i had listen in this year....

  • thw wierd thing is i hate scary movies and cary stories hate the dark ect yet im very morbid and love this dark enchanting music

  • @ViolaLantheTiana do you even know what morbid means?!

  • The poem .the raven, is truly a masterpice, like this song

  • In those 3 and a half minutes of music...

I really don't know where my mind was traveling!

    I really loved that!

I have to check them out...
