  • hm ok i heard the g7 automatic modus is not good (just good pictures in manual settings and not good quickshots and the akku is down after 150 pictures...is that true?(thx for your answers)

  • the video is great...i am asking cause i dont know if i should buy the g7 or g9 as 2nd cam. the chdk firmware is easy to install and doesnt make any problems?

  • @Larrypint

The only difference betwenn G7 and G9 is Raw and 60fps Videoframe.

CHDK is easy to install AND USE if to read and try and read and try and read..........;-)

It's great for experiments and great for test and train your patience while you learn it.

It's not like a model kit, it's like a dozen model kits :-)

By the way - the G9 has a few more pixel and a little more noise.

You see more noise and you can't see more pixel.

In my opinion the G7 is better.

  • is that possible with 4 gb sd card?

  • how is that high resolution possible?

  • @Larrypint

It was my first attempt with a 4GB card.

But the 2GB limit was sadly not exceeded, so i couldn't test if the limit exists.

I formated the card with the newest version of 'cardtricks'

The card is a Kingston 4GB card.

But the 6050 pictures had a size of just 1,7GB.

The produced 3:21 Video has a size of 1,6GB.

  • I used the freeware Photolapse 3.0 wich can produce time lapse movies

in the resolution of the original picture.

Very fast and with a few self-explainig klicks.

I choosed in the menu 'ffdshow videocodec' (free - read wikipedia)

and encoded to a mpeg4 divx movie.

    S o m e d a y......................i will make a time lapse over more than one day

to test if 'cardtricks' is able to break the 2 GB limitation.

If you know more let it me know please.
