  • Ty makes me want to be a better guitar player. I'm not...but he inspires me!

  • Its like hendrix crossed with frank Zappa!

  • Ty's biggest asset as a soloist is also his biggest liability when it comes to mainstream audiences. He is melodic before anything else... that makes it impossible for him to play a lot of the garbage that passes for 'shred' solos. Everything he plays has a theme and can be tied back to the direction of the song. His solos compliment the song - they don't destroy the mood. Ty is in a league by himself. Long live King's X

  • eat shit Pearl Jam! as Ty himself said: "we were grunge before there ever WAS Grunge". and... so far as Frampton Comes Alive, it was Jeff Beck who was known for using the Talk Box, back in 1973! this is one FINE example of Ty cutting loose and represents why he calls King's X HIS band. however... his voice isn't such that can carry a band. This is actually dUg's song. about his religious hypocrite grandma' singin' in her bedroom @ night whe she was prayin'. give the old man a break!
  • Kings X made two perfect albums (Gretchen and Out of...) but honestly, I dont like the following albums - seems they lost a LOT of energy.

Ty is a GREAT player, Doug had a great voice, no doubts, but this live version was a mistake. Too slow AND down tuned (E is a tricky key for that vocal notes - and sure, Doug dont have 20 yrs anymore...)

Anyway, respect - KGX one of my favorite bands ever.

  • Ty Tabor is by far one of the finest guitar players in the world. He never ceases to amaze.

  • Damn Ty's gone wild

  • Whoa! Sounds weird tuned down a whole step! Just sonically wrong. Sounds slowed down because Doug sounds weird too.

  • Ty tabor is awesome!!! But that solo is VERY similar to peter frampton do you feel with out the talkbox.Great jam!

  • texas flag as the backdrop is this in texas

  • @FunLovingCriminals77 Yo,der caption will tell you it's in der Netherlands. But, of course this ain't no NY city band, they'z from The Republic of Texas no less.

And....this song is supposed to be a notch faster..we got some drag going on.They aren't actually tuning down this much,eh??

Cool as hell band, vid and song though.

    Laters

  • iT'S DRAGGING

A hair fast and the vocal would be right

Ty's lead would be the correct speed also

    Thanks for the vid

The live posts here are great to see the band

but don't really capture what they're like live

Not even the Woodstock(which they were cut from on disc)

SEE THIS BAND ANYTIME YOU GET THE CHANCE

  • solo is very good singer sounds much better on studio version may be sick or something because he is a highly respected vocalist

  • what's wrong with Pinnick's voice? Sounds like he's straining and it's deep and round sounding instead of clean and open like I remember him. Maybe it's trashed after 20 years.

  • @TruthSurge since they tuned down all their songs a whole step it takes away the tention that 's in the original song.for example It's Love is tuned down to C_sharp;tags Key Club Hollywood It's love

  • @804pillow I guess they have to tune down live for Pinnick to hit the notes anymore. But here he sounded horrible. Oh well. He kicked ass on the studio albums b4 his voice blew out and for that I tip my hat.

  • @TruthSurge well;for this particular vid I can only vouch that they were on the road in Europe for more than 2 weeks (and with that I mean the more liberal climate towards green leaves/plants in combination with a badly aircontidioned coach during wintertime)

  • Ty is incredible..he just brings it from the gut and delivers..is it just me though or is this versions vocals/etc dragging just a bit in tempo?.

The last half solo is definitely tight yet is definitely reminiscent of Frampton(Do you Feel...).Good stuff though.Kings X rocks.

  • chills

  • Cool solo....reminds me of Frampton in his time....

  • Student? Great for someone just starting out to play? Everyone sure thinks a lot of themselves. LOL Not many peolple on earth can play like these guys. Please, do us all, and yourselves a favor, listen more, think less.

  • This a fun song to jam to, especially if you are just starting out!

    (solo aside of course)

  • The song is called "Over My Head"

  • So right you are! Thanx

  • Quite simply the best guitar player alive today, playing (arguably) the greatest solo of the last 25 years.

  • @whynottalklikeapirat Hey idiot - no one is saying that Ty Tabor is the king of technique - it's just that he creates art that truly speaks to people. You may be able to spit words out with your guitar faster than him, but you can't form sentences. So go be Yngwie's towel boy. Again.

  • @kirkvonbismarck Do you have to make such definitive statements? Can't you just say that Ty is your favorite? Can't you just enjoy his talent but also allow room to respect others' opinions? Music enjoyment is very subjective so to defend your opinion would be very difficult. Ty is great and I love him. His tone is my favorite! It is unique and it was orig, solid state!

Think of how difficult it would be to confirm the statement: "Dryer's choc. ice cream is the best ice cream in existence."

  • aww fuck. Ty was his name...
