  • OH MY!!! were there casualties during this flash flood? did it last long??? scary!!!

  • You knew it was coming? does it do this often? Scary doo doo!!!

  • OMG... That is absolutely TERRIFYING!!! Checking E-bay for rearview mirrors for my kayak.

  • Comment removed

  • it looks like a landslide

  • Damn nature! You scary!

  • Awsome and terrifying!

  • ermm.....

  • so.. shave your beard and do not call cthulhu

  • How is this possible? 125 mm of rain in 30 mins in one location, while another, appx. 5 km away, gets hardly any rain. This shit is unreal.

  • @dipalma7359 It happens. In the valley that has my hometown in the middle of it, one side of the valley can have a massive thunderstorm go right through it, while the other side is untouched.

  • k this is very quiet im thinking mayne you should set it to your favourite daft punk song or maybe some heavy metal your call all good all is better than silence

used to be a ride called flash flood at this waterpark it simulated EXACTLY what its like to be in a flash flood so its actually as cool as it looks if i was there i would be reaching for my bathers and jumping in there

  • OKAY!!! Who left the water hose on?!

  • Omg that is one big or huge flood!

  • please stay away from floodwaters

  • For a second there, I thought he was gonna part it or something. He fits the description of moses pretty well.

  • That must have been something to see up close like that. Cool.

  • holy crap !!

  • wow great footage. Rare where did all that water come from? its like a damn broke or something

  • wow great footage. Rare

  • that is incredible

  • whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cool!!!!!

  • There are few lucky enough to witness something like this in a safe manner. I for one, envy them.

  • The dude with the epic beard summoned this flood with his manly facial hair.

    No more commentary is needed.

  • Repent, Pray! God Bless you.

  • Wow! Incredible footage! That water was so powerful and wild. Thank you for posting. I find acts of nature such as this fascinating. :o)

  • fake

  • @leonardrogers1984 no its not fake its real this wasnt only video of this flood

  • @leonardrogers1984 I'd like to see you fake a similar scene.

  • @leonardrogers1984, What the hell, are you blind.. whats so fake about it?

  • @cheeseypoofs12 for something so powerful the people in the video show little to no concern for their own safety. at one point their feet are almost in the water. How are they so confident of the waters path?

  • @leonardrogers1984 For the same reason that people in the south say, "Hold my beer and watch this!"

It's not that hard to figure out. That, and the creek has likely flooded in the same manner in the past. If you see it happen a half a dozen times the same way, confidence that it will do the same is a fairly easy conclusion to make. Can it do different? Sure, and eventually it will. But that doesn't change the sheer boldness of human nature.

  • imagine driving along then oh hey there flash flood. bye world

  • at .30 sec i thought it was livestock running from the water,OMG thats bad i hope that no ones house or animals were hurt.?

  • Everything has to be racial everywhere

    2. something given or inflicted in such requital.

    3. Theology . the distribution of rewards and punishments in a future life."

  • Throw Indians in there

  • Haha that's funny. It's only water

  • When nature strikes back the "great" human beeing is not more like an ant under our shoe...

  • That is scary!

  • Horrible!

  • floods are scaryyy!!!

  • Footage like this should be studied,...maybe try figure out a way to save lives,...like an early warning system planted up river,...I feel for the people in Brazil atm, @ least in Oz (although its still very distressing) we have the resources to deal with these kind of events,....but the poor countries always end up suffering & w8ing for help from other countries,...u get my meaning????

also,..any1 notice the reverse flow system when the water crossed the causeway the narly Eddie.

  • @54luke This weather event was the subject of some quite detailed hydrological investigation.

  • @ajob111 HAARP HAARP HAARP HAARP HAARP HAARP HAARP HAARP HAARP HAARP

    did this

  • did someone think to blame President Bush? I hope Obama came to australia to apologize

  • Thats why you should never set up camp in a dry creek bed.

  • LOL i love how they just stand there looking at it casually. I would have been running my ass off.

  • now THAT... is an impressive video. great job!

  • Have linked this to my Facebook page "1983 Nuriootpa Floods" page as an example of what see from time to time in rural Australia.

    Thanks a bunch rf1smith!

  • That's just an awesome piece of footage! Thanks for posting this one.

Loved hearing the continuous rolling thunder in the back ground.

And man, what power that wall of water must have had in it!!

  • Flash floods can put out conflagrations, but they cause inundations.

  • wow that's crazy! It looks like a monster passing by!

    -Scott

  • Normal people RUN

  • lol that field got owned

  • chuck norris had diarhea

  • so cool!

  • cool vid

  • That... Was... EPIC!

  • SKINNY DIP TIME!!

  • it is actually a flash flood, it is only becasue the dirt was on its way.

and for those of you who think you can cross the flood you will be proven wrong.

upon science, even a 2 feet can pull you away since it doesnt matter by the height of the water, it depends on velocity of the water current

  • sweat!!!!!!

  • @CRpianoman hey whats sweet in that ,,

  • wow cool

  • looks like a great rapid to kayak on

  • grab a 6 pack and some chips

  • @RuggedChild914 Yes sir!

  • @loonmaniac Well you can make your bed float lol then wake-up up in a different city lol

  • GOOD VIDEO EXAMPLE OF EROSION IN ACTION

What will erosion with huge 12m tides be

if channeled into old sanded up dry paleo rivers on NW Australia

  • incredible footage. thanks for uploading. i had never seen anything like this.

  • omg watching this vid gave me a chocolate milk craving!

    XD

  • @rashawn770 lol same =P

  • It looks a lot like the lahar (boiling acidic water and mud from volcanos) we had from Mt Ruapehu in in New Zealand in 2007. As a matter of fact it was a flash flood that killed about 153 people in the 50's when the christmas eve express crossed a weakened bridge at night time.

  • hey im just saying it looks gross o.e

  • looks like someone just took a shit o.0 nature just took some diareah o.0........

    this video ish awesome

  • i thought i was on the top of that floating tree.. :(

  • that looks like the dump i took this morning

  • Jeez man! shut it.

  • @wahnhunglow1333 same here XDD

  • lol thats scary a whirl pool

  • wtf...........

  • lazy river!

  • and some people think they can drive across that!

  • Depends on what you're driving in. Most common cars, no, but you get some of those serious all-terrain vehicles, no sweat. They float anyway.

  • I'm having trouble detecting any sarcasm in your post. Forgive me if I was meant to :-) In a flash flood like that, no readily available commercial road vehicle of any kind would be able to make through. One of the leading causes of death and injury in flash floodying is the gross overconfidence people have in their vehicle's ability to "make it through". Flash floods can destroy large trucks and trains, can move and destroy entire houses. A 4WD or ATV? The occupants would be dead in minutes.

  • @alextact - Agreeeeeeeeeed !!! That mass amount of water & the speed of the water with all of its deadly contents that it carries would destroy anything or anyone in seconds. That is no joke right there.

  • @alextact and i wnat

  • @alextact lmao!!!! EXCEPT A MONSTER TRUCK!!!!!!

  • @RockJay2NayMe Monster Trucks weigh less than houses. Flash floods can destroy entire neighbourhoods of houses in a heart beat. But by all means give it a go. Good luck :-)

  • @alextact ok smart asss ruining all the fun :(

  • @alextact Not to mention tires on a monster truck would be like big floats.

  • i never seen anything like this one!

  • We get flash floods similar to this one in Oregon.

If there is anything that binds Aussies and Americans together it is that we know how to handle severe weather.

  • outstanding footage!!

  • This is fabulously awesome! Hard to believe a rain storm up a ways could cause this! Dang!

  • HOLY CRAP!! Just don't jump in...

  • Damn nature, you SCARY!!

  • thank you for sharing this video, very educational! Ive always wondered what a flash flood was like, i mean i have imagined but is cool to see one in action.

  • AWSOME!!!!! man i wish i was there i would of loved to see that in person and a little closer.

    that was something else

  • spectacular but awful filmin

  • Whow! Thats sick! man, thats crazy standing so close to that

  • Thats Amazing. Scary and Amazing. Its taking anything in its path
