I didn't even watch Nitro to see that comment. I was watching every WWF show (LIvewire, Sunday Night Heat, and then Raw) until I finally saw the match.

The only problem I have with this, you don't do this kinda screw job to a sold out georgia dome that holds over 40,000 people. Show was sold out months before hand they had time to change some things.

This would have been a victory for nitro in the monday ratings for that week. Everybody wanted to see this match even the fact that tony gave away that mankind won the title nitro would have still won. It's that finger poke of doom that fucked it up and caused people to watch mankind win the title. Hogan and Nash were playing there games and thought they could get away with it but it backed fired on them and wcw.

I had to correct something you said. It was NOT the "Finger Poke of Doom" that caused people to switch over and watch the Mankind match. People switched over to Raw "literally" seconds after Tony Schiavone made those comments about Mankind winning the title. The actual "Finger Poke of Doom" only compounded problems for WCW because when fans switched back and saw the B.S. and chaos that was happening at WCW in the main event.

nash and hogan was supposed to be the next feud in wcw at this time but nash approached hogan and said if we feud one of us needs to win and one needs to lose and neither wanted the losers payoff!! both were greedy and power hungry and so the only way to settle it was put them back together which sucked cause red vs black was an awesome angle~ and could of gone even further!!

Hogan when he arrived in WCW in 94 when he was a face was booed by the southern fans cause they were pro flair fans.Iam sure he didnt want to turn heel and do the n.W.o. thing but him being a ego maniac he got more tv time and he revived his career.Again say what u want bout Hogan he is the reason Wrestling became what is was but Stone Cold is just as eqaul maybe even better.

In isolation I think people over-estimate how bad this angle was. In context it was the last straw. You can't fuck the fans too much. They fucked the fans a lot before this moment.

Hindsight, says they need to have the Hogan/Nash blow-off leading to the end of the NWO.
