OMG, those pictures are of the first couple of games! I've always loved them, and I've had this game since I was little too, but I think I was too young to really get the humour :P
@rubygloommel I still haven't played the first two games, although maybe one day I'll get around to emulating them or the like (I think you can get them to run using SCUMMVM).
It's weird, I've read interviews where Sir Terry has said he's received letters from school teachers who have read a Discworld book to the class, and yet I struggle to think of one that would really be suitable for a class reading for children. I suppose you could just skim over the minor curse words?
I suppose so, teachers have a gift for that, after all they insist of reading that Harry Potter crap to them and even that has a few swears littered about.
But still, I can't see anyone other than an unusually cynical little child really getting any of the jokes, bless, I can see their blank little faces now :) I doubt they even know what Noir is!
@rubygloommel I knew "noir" was the french word for black when I first played this, that was about it. Now I'm reading pulp novels like The Big Sleep in order to try and understand it better. ;)
I'll say that I never liked Harry Potter, but I won't criticise as I've never read the books, only small parts as a taster and I quickly realised that it wasn't my cup of tea at all.
Do you have the other two games as playthoughs as well? Because I would love to see them. I must not be as much of a fan as I thought I was to have missed these. lol
The first two games are rather old, I've only played the second one myself but this was back before I was into Discworld so I rather foolishly traded in my copy for something else (about 10 years ago now, probably).
I'm afraid I don't own the first two games currently and wouldn't know my way through them like I do this one, but I've heard a rumour that the games might be coming to the SCUMMVM emulator, so if it's true I'll look into it and we'll have to see. ;)
There's three of them! This is the third game, but if you do a search on YouTube you can generally find clips from the other two games (both starring Rincewind).

I'm glad you're enjoying it, the pun and reference-laden script actually put some people off of this game.

I've got both "Discworld" & "Discworld 2 - Missing Presumed" working on ScummVM. Just thought I let you know. ;)
