that is because it is a rock machine.we had a hitachi 1100 like that come out of the states and lasted about 6 minutes on soft ground in edmonton alberta canada.needless to say we changed the pad size immidiately.
@sk8ordie441 The track pads are short in width because the machine is working in rock. Wider track pads in rock cause a lot of stress to the undercarriage and can actually break off. Wide pads may look 'cool' but serve no purpose in these conditions.
I know Tarmac use it to load limestone into that Nordberg crusher, one of only two 5130s left here in the uk, other up here in Scotland. Check my flickr page look for JFisher84. Do you work in there
