It is a fundamental marketer's flop to try and promote a nation's image without highlighting any unique-selling-points, but rather only by referencing its association with other more recognized country brands (in this example 'French'). In all, it is refreshing to see China attempting to transition to a more design/technology driven growth model, but in terms of branding some more egocentricity may actually be helpful.
The creators of this video left out any references to a product's environmental and social footprint as it relates to this manufacturing environment i.e China. Of course without free flow of information how could you know what the impact of your purchases are? Nice try but it is incomplete information. Just what they want you to know. No environmental damage no economic damage just simple tune without the truth. What ad agency created this?
