sorry late rply but the "present day assassin"  is desmond miles the descendant of altair and ezio if u played both games u only get to interract with him a few times. so its not really anything near a hint to the sequel, jus trying 2 explain not argue...

not exactly the greatest choice of picture since the background image was a place that was very boring in the first game.

Later on down the road through, I'd probably get a good chuckle when I see Ass C on the top right of the screen.
