There is a way to expose false beliefs with love and with tact and with respect. I expose false beliefs all the time, but I try not to be a jerk about it. Your wife is just speaking from a hurt soul. You are right, Yeshua or Yehoshua is His name in Hebrew. The transliteration given to this name in the N.T. Greek is "Iēsous". Then "Iēsous" translated into english is Jesus.

Also the transliteration of the Hebrew name Yeshua into English is "Joshua". Hence why in Acts 7:45 and Heb 4:8, the Old Testament patriarch named "Joshua" is named "Jesus" in the New Testament. There were 3 different Jesus' in the Bible. They were "Justus", "Joshua" and of course the Messiah Himself.
