The original actor who played The Colossal man was drunk, so they changed the actor, made him look like this Cyclops in the sequel. The music in them days could really make anything look scary! Worst Cyclops? Richard Moll in the Hercules tv show.

@robphilll22 Well, back in the day, Bert I Gordon was doing his own special effects and he used double-exposures instead of some kind of matting process like blue-screen that would have been too expensive for his budget, so he had to try to make his giants look as pale as possible because parts too dark (like black hair) would become transparent. THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN made the same year was his best case for this technique. That's why he's wearing a white diaper and is completely bald.

Well, regardless, I watch with a mixture of amusement and dismay as the large fringed lizard is tossed into the frame at :36 to presumably fight with the other reptile (gila monster?) which is already there. Nowadays, fortunately, animal rights people wouldn't allow this.

wildganger is right, Dean Parkin played the cyclops, though not credited. He also played the Colossal Beast ( in place of Glenn Langan) in the sequel to "The Amazing Colossal Man."

I saw this movie second run in 1963 at the Burien Theater, since torn down.

That same actress was in a lot of movies then.

Now I can use Google to find out she was Gloria Talbott, early scream queen.

The thing I remember most clearly from being 12 years old, was that the 15 foot tall cyclops wore leaves or skins for clothes, but I could see that he also had on brief underwear.

But Princess Leah had feminine product failure on her white dress.

Yeah movie "rereleases" kids today can't believe studios would bring out films a second or third time after a few years before the days of VCR's and such. People would also wander into double features any old time instead of waiting for the exact start time, "here's where we came in" is a phrase you don't here anymore. Seems bumpkinish by today's standards.

I vaguely remember: Giant was the woman's husband who was normal sized before. Flying his plane, he crash landed on the island, became disfigured, lost his memory. He was exposed to some type of gas on the island that made him and the animals grow giant sized. Typical 50s "B-movie". Cyclops doesn't really do much. He kills Lon Chaney's character by poking him in the chest one time. In the end, the people escape in their plane as giant wanders nearby moaning.. Last scene, the giant's dead.

Wow. I saw this when I was probably 4 or 5 back in the later 80s. I've remembered the Cyclops peeking into the cave ever since, and it's awesome to actually see that scene again.

nt a bad film yes lsughable to sn extent but not bad with chaney the bad guy here again. that cyclops is one mean dude and good makeup. i recall this in 58. im a horror film sci fi historian and i like old goodies like this. The Cyclops despite flaws isnt all that bad compared worst ive seen. thanks again. tomk

I love when they throw the bearded lizard onto a gila monster. I think in real life the live in different hemispheres.

I liked "Dr. Cyclops" better. Or, Sinbad & the Cyclops in the Argonauts (?).

I remember seeing this when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Bruce the Cyclop. He was a running joke in our home for a couple of years after we all sat up late and watched it on our little black and white TV. It was meant to be scary, but it was hilarious even then.
