  • It appears your set is a mixture of the first and second sets of Chen's. Suggest concentrating on the first set initially to refresh your mind and body. Do it slowly to perfect the detail movements before quickening the pace. Make sure that breathing coordinates with body movements to achieve harmony between the two.

    Go to the second set only after you have completely mastered the first one.

  • Apart from muscles, bones and tendons, warm up in Taiji also involves the mind and breathing. Actually, Taiji is an three-in-one exercise of the mind, breathing and body with perfect coordination of the three.

    Concentrate more on refreshing your mind, breathing instead of just on bones muscles and tendons. Hope this helps.

  • perhaps we had different master and thus different teachings...i was taught not to do streching like that as we were supposed to learn how to 'loosen' the muscles and bones and everything thru practice and imagination.

  • I also learn how to 'loosen' muscles^^ Different master, different teaching, different...., But I think the purpose of practicing taichi is the same^^

  • I think your warm-up procedures are appropriate^^ I also do 站椿/han-zhuang, but I can't endure that long ToT I feel chi/qi stronger by practicing taichi.

    Never heard 26 taichi.  Is that Yang Style?

    I enjoy practicing taichi, but with Kung-Fu, I can only enjoy watching due to the physical limit.

    yea tai chi 26 is both yang and chen but personally i love chen tai chi better. i like its suddent explosive attacks using fa jing.

    what phycical limit? if you can do tai chi you can do kung fu, but not the wushu gemnastic one, more tradtional one.

    hey do you do ba gua zhong and xing yi, and i jin jing too? sorry, love the internal arts the most. :D will have videos up soon. :}

    I like both yang & chen, but I feel the circulation of qi much stronger when I practice chen, But I try not to practice too much, otherwise I get too weary.

    I practice kung fu once a week, but I cannot move that fast and jump well ToT

    I would like to try Bagua in the future. Recently, I had an opportunity to learn the basic tai chi sword, so I would like to learn that next^^
