  • is there any current tacp that i could talk to.. i want to do it im just very unsure about what im getting into atm.. i've already taken the PAST and gave it hell im not worried about that really just more how they work if anyone has time to talk to me for a while just message me back and i'll give you my email or something i'd appreciate it

  • Definitely interested in becoming apart of the TACP. Sounds like just the thing I'd want to do. Almost can't wait to graduate

  • how would i be able to sign up for the apprentice course at Hurlburt Field.

  • im currently in afjrotc and want to become this because after i graduate and join the air force and after basic i become an airman first class or e3 but the reason i want to become a tacp is because they still go out and fight and they are apart of the airforce

  • @elbone6 Im in army JROTC i would be in the af JROTC but there isnt one here. I want to be a TACP too. I havent talked to a recruiter yet mostly because im still 16 but i have spent 3 days with the 238th in miss. I need to find out how to do the apprentice course. and this spring break im going to cali. to talk to some of the TACP's there

  • Does TACP still have a buddy program? I know when I tried to sign up for CCT 5 years ago (damn eyesight...) there was a buddy program for all special tactics.

  • anybody know any TACP specific cadences? i bought a CD when I visited Wright-Pat called "Run to Cadence with the United States Air Force" and I like most of the cadences but alot of em have something to do with PJ and CCT but nothing for TACP.

  • This is a GREAT video. I was motivated before but now am like 10x more motivated haha:)

  • Wanna be combat control! This is not spec ops!

  • @varcity23 it is spec ops you queer, now get off your lazy ass and go take a run

  • @darkpunch12 An ASOS isn't spec ops. Nice try.

  • DEATH ON CALL! My cousin is a TACP he is fucking kickass

  • Can someone please tell me how physically challenging this is? Is it as hard Ranger school or what because i know TACP's work with conventional army units so i would picture the physical training to be harder than army infantry school but not by much. But at the same time they also work with Rangers and SF and stuff but i would imagin inorder to be able to do that they would have to get extra training. can someone just please help in clearing this up for me and im sure other people? thank you.

  • What's up with the gay screamo.

  • hello, I'm right now a a-10 crew chief, but i want to be a tacp so bad, i was supposed to do it when i left and still want to. I have about 2-3 more years before i can cross-train but if anyone can give me some tips about getting myself physically and mentally prepared please do.

  • 10/31 for me, been waiting a long time for this one!!!

  • In Fear and Faith. excellent choice.

  • not feeling the music... but nice video. Trying to get myself in shape for this

  • How physically intense is this course?

  • damn this is what im trying to do once i get my diploma

  • So Ive basicly already did the part for the young guys i still have a year till i can swear in and do it again

  • NOT ONE DISLIKE!!! looks like the weak did fall by wayside

  • @capnmunch72 lol

  • @b1bomberdude How do you suggest to train pred yourself? I am sorry if I seem imposing or over bearing. If you dont get the time to answer I understand. Mad respect for all the brave men and women in every branch.

  • New standards in.

    1 1/2 mile run: 10:47

    2 min. pull-ups: 6

    2 min. SU: 48

    2 min. PU: 40

Keep in mind. These are just the bare minimum. Strive for excellence. And RUCK!

I just got done with Basic and have completed a pre-indoc course with my Unit. I leave for Medina/Hurlburt in September.

  • @RustedTinMan i wish i was in your shoes right now, ive been in the af for a year as a maintainer and i hate it i cant wait till my chance to cross train!

  • @b1bomberdude What was the hardest part about TACP training?

  • @sentll

Keeping your mental attitude positive for the 18 weeks is the hardest. Its s physical course no doubt, but its a mental battle even more. Its hard to keep your game face on for that long, at least for me it was. Looking back though a year later, its all water under the bridge and such a small part of being a 1C4. So much more to learn after the schoolhouse.

  • Awsome leaving for basic AUG. 23 TACP!!!

  • once you become a TACP, how do you become a JTAC? please respond

  • @sumSOTY go to a another school for training in that field

  • @sumSOTY look it up. its not that hard

  • @sumSOTY JTACQC at Nellis AFB. It's more of an academic deal than ass kicking. You don't worry about it until a few years after getting your hands on the black beret, though.

  • Needs R. Lee Ermey

  • Leaving August 23 for BMT, and TACP is on my contract baby

  • Any update on the graduation standard? I really hope the entire course is harder then how bomber described it!

  • @drothefuture

Graduation standards is 45 pushups, 50 situps, 11:08 run and 8 pull-ups. Not a hard standard, but dont look at just the PAST as an indicator to how hard the school is. We started with 58, graduated 30. We have a guy in school now and they lost 18 of 40 in the FTX just 2 weeks ago. If you ever get there, you will see its no joke. Most fail for other reasons than the PAST....dont get cocky, as those guys seldom make it through. Be humble and prove yourself at Hurlburt.

  • @b1bomberdude

Thanks a lot for the information! I never considered the PAST to be anything like the actual school. Please tell me they do some water confidence during the course? I was looking forward to that at Indoc but unfortunately I've already booked my TACP job and am leaving June 7th. THanks a lot, man!

  • all about teamwork =P

  • I am currently planning on enlisting in the Army as a 13 Foxtrot. But I will nevertheless talk to the AF recruiter...TACPs are the big dogs.

  • @CaptainAmerica322 the AF will treat you better. I spent 2 years active AF. I got out after being medically DQ'd from PJ training due to vision by ONE POINT...I went to the Army for SF... I'm not in a Long Range Surveillance Company.

  • just took my test to see if i qualify for tacp and i passed to bad i gotta wait a year to go do it

  • all the way every day

  • How hard is it to get into TACP right now? Do I take the physical test like push ups and stuff at meps and if I pass does that mean im guaranteed a shot at this job? And whats the ASVAB requirements? Thankyou

  • @360pinoy TACP is not to bad to get a contract for right now in the USAF since it's a critically manned career field. I'm in DEP to leave for TACP on Apr 19th and I got my contract 3 weeks after I swore in, in November. You will not take the PAST at MEPS. You take the PAST after MEPS once they are sure you're fully qualified. Then if you pass the PAST you can sign a GTEP contract for TACP guaranteeing you a slot in training if you don't do anything to get yourself DQ'd. ASVAB of 49 in general.

  • @cubsws21 cool man you're heading to basic when I turn 20. Good luck and best of luck at schoolhouse. I'm about to start block 2 right now..

  • @360pinoy you don't take the PAST at MEPS but you do have to take it before you ship out for BMT

  • i want to crosstrain to a TACP when im done with security forces! is it a good idea?

  • @spraystarch Dude. Anything is better than security forces man.

  • I am in JROTC in my High School and I want to do this when I get older!!

  • I joined knowing nothing about the military an they stuck my ass in security lame ass forces ill be joining you guys soon i got my cross training date in for tacp

  • my cousin just completed his wilderness training in 30 degree weather with rain. Kids got heart, want's to be in the Airborne Division.

  • buffer is so fudging slow

  • good music

  • i leave for florida wednesday! just finished the prep course in medina AFB.

  • Death on Call!!

  • Hey I'm looking into TACP with the Air Guard, and I was wondering, for the PAST and at the Schoolhouse, are the Sit-Ups full Sit-Ups, or are they Crunches?

  • Whooo!!! i just got my ship date for basic and im goin gin as TACP!! cant wait :D

  • @MrTreyGunner WHAT IS YOUR SHIP DATE, I LEAVE NOV 9 OUT OF NY

  • @MrMasterMarksman i dont leave till dec 14 :( i wish it was sooner. Add me as a friend and i can send you some info on what to expect once you get there if you want

  • @MrMasterMarksman nice, i leave Nov. 16th.

  • Hey b1bomberdude do you mind if i ask you some ?s about TACP? i washed out of PJ indoc and want to do TACP. DO you have an email if you dont mind?

  • @usafruby

No problem, message me on here and I will answer your TACP questions.

  • This stuff certainly has come a long way since the Cold War days.

I`m one of those people who got "Shanghaied" into this stuff in 1975.

I wish you bunch all the best.

Robert Dessauer, MSgt, USAF (Retired 15 years ago)

  • Hey everyone I am currently on Preteam for TACP at Lackland. Currently TACP is undermanned so I am sure it is still possible to get it. I actually was able to test for TACP at basic, but i recommend you test before. The Cadre say I am the first one to do so in over 12 years.

  • @skaterjm So you don’t have to take the TACP PAST before BMT? My recruiter is having me take it before he sends me to MEPS.

  • Overall, this is a good video....but tell Ferguson to fix his g*dd*mn beret. I can't believe no one told him that the tear and chewed up band on the front of his beret make him look like exactly the opposite of one of "the best instructors in the world". I am not a stickler for dress and appearance.....and I certainly don't think that appearance speaks to ability level. What I do think is, if you are representing our career field....fix your sh*t before you get filmed.

  • Leaving for bootcamp on Monday then to TACP

    Excited and nervous as hellll

  • @ch0wmeins Good luck man.

  • I got TACP, leave for basic in November. Cant wait!

  • wow, airman bentley at 1:11, the guy at the front, graduated from BMT with me, good shit to see him there bustin his ass

  • @xXSiKONEXx this vid ws made n 2009 so that makes alot of sense

  • I am prior service AF and have really thought about Tacp. My only issue is running. I did fine during basic (wasn't really hard any way) but now i get terrible shin splints. I have done everything from stretching to new shoes and the shit just doesnt get any better. Has anyone here delt with this and does it go away with time and conditioning?

  • @Killswitch4132 Try walking around on your heels with your toes up.

  • whats the difference between a cct and a tacp operator?

  • @DevinChief Tacp deploys with traditional infantry army units, and cct deploys with special forces. They do similar jobs, but cct is more difficult (I say that because of the atrition rate).

  • @WOWskarphace thanks man!

  • my recruiter told me its almost impossible to join TACP now... shoot i guess my first option now is going to be CCT, but when i go to meps i have to get some different job, since CCT is spec ops, and ya go out for that.

  • @Ervenger i doubt that now im joining tacp or at least trying to join tacp i still have to pass their phyiscal requirments and cct you would be a very respected bad ass no joke good luck

  • FYI - if anyone remembers that shit show...Carter ratted us all out... thanks Carter.

  • @valleyhotboy36 Man...Fuck Carter.

  • I was Falcon Flight 2002 - got myself a nice little underage drinking discharge for partying in the other dorms... SSGT Zagorsky was the man. I was in Falcon w/ Dunning, Monn, Skim, Derra, Townsend, and a few PJ washouts.... I was 300 club w/ army PT & my boy Hanna is stationed at Wiesbaden now & he works w/ the TACPs. HOOOYYAAAA

  • is tacp special forces?

  • @DevinChief No, only a small % of TACP are special operations. And Special Forces only refers to Army Green Berets, Special Operations is everything else.

  • @ugadawg92 ok thanks man!

  • Well, me being an old timer from Falcon 02, all I can say is...YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! The career field has certainly progressed and all I can say is I'm proud of all of you.

  • i signed up for the air force in august and took my pt test in january and passed it. i can't wait to leave once i get my date. this video really gets me syked to join the USAF SPEC OPS.

  • great vid.starting tacp pt test this friday.cant wait for whats coming up next...thanks

  • i really like this video. any chance you have more? Im going into the air force, and i want to be in TACP. I go do my screening april 1st hopefully, and my dad might sign for me. if he doesnt, ill have to wait till june to sign up when i turn 18. This is what i really want to do the most. my asvab afqt was a 94, and i am in pretty good shape. this video was very helpful, thanks!

  • im thinking about intel but i am more intrested in this than in intelligence. but i want to make sure im getting valuble future expierience. what kind of opportunities does tacp come with for careers after the airforce. is there any place in the cia or nsa for an ex JTAC?

  • You're best bet in getting in the CIA, DIA, etc is special operations experience. But anything with combat experience helps too. The intel agencies love people who are educated in different cultures and languages as well.

  • @SCxTrojan1 if i went into intelligence operations and then transitioned into the CIA, would i need college to do that? or does it not matter if your military and mostly depend on whatever expierience you have

  • Yes you'd need at least a bachelors. You don't absolutely need military service. Like I said, they love people with international knowledge and experience, so I'd say the military definitely gets you more points. I'm interested in the same kind of stuff and everyone I've talked to says the same thing about the CIA. Are you looking into Paramilitary Officer in the CIA?

  • @SCxTrojan1 it says you can apply for 4 different jobs, and the site doesnt give a lot of specific information on the jobs. but ya i am planning on anything in the clandestine service

  • Ok. If I was you, I would look into a degree in international relations, a foreign language, anything with foreign cultures and international laws. The military is going to be the best way to get into these agencies. The Army has a lot of jobs dealing with intelligence. Look at MOSs like 35m or 35n. Like I said before, Spec Ops is a great start too. The CIA, DIA, NSA, etc recruit directly out of special operations forces. Having a bachelors degree plus spec ops experience is an almost guarantee.

  • @SCxTrojan1 ya, i emailed them and they said for clandestine services and anylists you need a degree. im already signed on with the airforce but havnt chosen a job yet. special ops sounds like a pain in the ass to be honest, but ill probly start with intelligence and if i decide to do the training later on, ill stay in shape. international relations sounds like a good idea. ill look into that

  • SSG Taylor looks like one scary dude! He looks like he eats babies for breakfast!

  • SSgt Taylor is a good guy. He's best friends with my last JTAC, "KB".

  • hey ssgt it's hughes

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 he doesnt seem that bad.. but then again he has never instructed me so i would not know.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 Taylor? is that you?

  • @buttlord123 nope.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 Is SSG Taylor still an instructor? He told me I should do TACP a long time ago... I should have listened then.

  • @Evilstewie831 What...? you don't eat babies for breakfast?

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 hahahahahah!!!!

  • ssg taylor is better

  • Murray is a bad ass.

  • How often do these guys deploy? Do they deploy like the Army or are they on Air Force rotations?

  • Right now they're 6 months in garrison and 6 months deployed.

  • I have been in the AF for 4 years now, my retraining window is coming up here shortly, looking to crosstrain into TACP, but dont know too much information about it! I am in great shape running/push up/sit up wise, but i really hate swimming, is that part of the PAST test or curriculum? This career field sounds right up my ally, i am tired of sitting behind a desk, im highly motivated and want to get out there. Whats my chances of grabbing a TACP slot? Anyone with info bout tacp please message me

  • they dropped the 200m swim on the test.

  • excuse me, i noticed you said you are in the AF. I have a question. I plan on joining after i graduate in june, i want to be a mechanic, but i would also like to be a TACP. I noticed you mentioned that you want to crosstrain. Um what exactly is that? Like is it something that means you can go from one job to another sort of thing?

  • after 3 years of your first job. i retrained.

  • Yes, after about 3 years of one job, you can crosstrain and pretty much change your job.

  • it means if you join the AF as a mech you do that for a certian amount of time. If you happen to get board of being a mechanic and do something more intense you contact a superior about joining the TACP school. If you complete this then you have succesfully crosstrained.

  • not much when you're all doing it as a team. Trust me, I know.

  • How much does that pipe weigh? anyone know?

  • man i miss being a romad! stay motivated brothers.

  • Does TACP stick together as a Flight or Squadron? Or do they seperate them and send them to Army units? I'm considering enlisting with my buddy

  • They are sent to individual infantry units, After the school at hurlburt field fl. they are given basic infantry training at Ft. Polk la. good luck

  • army INF or Marine INF??

  • from what I understand TACP is usually a 2 man team attached to an army unit. I am taking my pre- req. physical Friday, if I pass I am guaranteed the job. Being that I make it all the way through training. Mind over matter!!

  • way too fuckin moto

  • Comment removed

  • read the description merlin its In Fear and Faith "Pirates Sequel

  • How called this song?

  • What's the time standard and weight for the graduation ruck? I've heard 3:15:00 with 75lbs

  • How called this song?

    5*

  • good luck to all you new guys and remember to be...

    FAR BEYOND DRIVEN!!!!

  • my son has become a TACP and he has overcome ALL the obsticles set before him. he is the man i knew was in him the day he was born. and is now a path setter for other men. thank you tacp for all you do, and will do for me, my son, and my country

    GOD BLESS THE USA

  • I believe the current past test initial pre req is 39 push ups 45 sit ups and 11:41 1.5 mile run and 3 pull ups. But that is bare minimum.

  • @larrymansell I believe the push- ups is actually 42 (2 min.)

53 sit-ups (2 min.) and 6 reps of pull-ups (2 min.)-- as if some guys will be in a dead hang for two minutes before their last rep haha

  • @urdaddy98

    Grad standard is

    45 push-ups in 1 minute

    50 sit-ups in 1 minute

    11:08 1.5 mile run

    8 pull-ups

Just graduated last week. GUNG HO

  • @b1bomberdude i taught the 1.5 mile was like 9:30?

  • @MrTreyGunner

It is 11:08 graduation standard. Do not shoot for the minimums though, as you will get rail-roaded everyday at PT if you are running just under the minimum standards. Anyone watching this, just be known that you will run a lot in TACP school. Just have to do it, simple as that. You dont have to be the fastest guy, but make sure you are not the slowest. There were guys running 8:10 1.5 mile while I was there and sub 8's have been done as well.

  • @b1bomberdude

Is there an age limit to become a TACP?

  • @b1bomberdude Congrats brother, this is what I'm doing when I get in

  • @b1bomberdude congrats man. just curious, are the pull ups palms in or palms out? from what i've read on airforce.com and romad it seems palms in?

  • @marleynrs8

Palms out, just like how you grip a bicycle handlebar when you ride.

  • @b1bomberdude hey man what is the number one thing that gets people recycled. I'm betting Land Nav.

  • @b1bomberdude hey what was the schoolhouse like? and did you do an indoc before the schoolhouse? im curious, i leave may 26th for bmt and im going tacp.

  • @b1bomberdude is this still speical forces? whats better tacp or cct?

  • @TardMan158

NEITHER is BETTER. CCT are TACP that are Air Traffic Control certified, pretty much the only difference.. Also they are ALL jump qualified, and only work with Special Operations Forces, and they are apart of JSOC.

  • @b1bomberdude how long is the training?

  • @Dustoff101st

5 Days-Prep Couse at Lackland AFB, San Antonio

18 Weeks at Hurlburt Field, Florida if you do not wash back. Typical wash will put your back 3-4 weeks.

  • @b1bomberdude yo, how is it man!? i'm cross training soon, and this is the job i've wanted for years! im pumped, but just wondering..... i cant find anything on what the classroom part of the training is. could ya shed some light?

  • @b1bomberdude Good job bro .Thanks for your service to this great nation USA horahhhhh

  • @b1bomberdude thats it? im shooting for warhawk.

  • @ronniepage Warhawk is for BMT, nothing to do with Tech School

  • @b1bomberdude i am well aware. and you should know that the standards for warhawk are higher than the tacp standards.

  • @ronniepage i know this comment was 2 weeks ago, but the number of push ups, sit ups, running , pull ups has VERY little to do with the actual training. Its all about mental fortitude,

Think about it, if every candidate can ace the PT test for CCT and PJ, then why is there such a high drop out rate during the actual training.

Theres MUCH MUCH more to TACP and any other Combat job than simple PT test.

    Good luck

  • @MantisTobagganMD 100%correct!

  • @MantisTobagganMD I can't speak for TACP (just yet) but, as a former Force Recon Marine and advance tatctics instructor passing the indoc (PT test) simply means that you meet the minimum physical requirements to begin/conduct training. As you continue training you are expected to perform beyond the minimum. Its when you fail to do so that you run the risk of being dropped. As an instructor I see someone that's at their peak and unable to push any further.

  • Man i ship out to Hurlburt in October. Its gonna be da shit!!!! im so pumped!!!

  • hey what did you have to do on the PAST test? Cause I'm doing the test this week for TACP and I'm confused with what the qualifications are cause my recruiter is telling me one thing and I find other information on other sites. Thought I would send you a reply since you qualified for TACP.

    -Chan

  • i just got my TACP job and ship date! can't believe i have to wait until november 3 though...

  • you too? i know what ya mean. waitin all summer seems like forever

  • 9/22 I leave for basic then I am there - can't wait

  • What the fuck's wrong with ur beret Jarred? Sic vid by the way man.

  • This is BA!

  • yea its come fun stuff man u'll like it

  • Good Stuff, cant wait.

  • i just passed my PAST test for TACP and in stoked about leaving. is there any advice out there beside whats on the vid cause they pretty much said it all i think.

  • Congrats man! Good stuff! I took my PAST in March and passed also. There is another video....a couple of videos rather that give a little more info on TACP. There is one called the TACP recruiting video, and there is another one called WA TACP recruiting......or something like that. I hope t
