  • Always worth it,never a waste of time. In this short life of ours,I refer to these as quality moments :-) Thanks Ed <3

  • Arrived back in The UK after a 3year stint in Malaya courtesy of the British Army - Oh the memories of being home that 1959 music kicks up - all very good, so thank you for taking the time to put this together.

  • Absolutely awesome, I could listen to this stuff forever! I burn loads of '50s and early'60s stuff to disc and sit for hours watching it all on my big screen. The way I see it music just about ended in the '60s. I was born in'43 and grew up with rock'n'roll - and it is STILL the only real music on this planet. Thank you so much for all of this, Geoff Kirby from Wolverhampton, England.

  • Cute trick. You need to put these songs on in their entirety though. It's such a teaser!!

  • Hi @jojo2mag - No trick - when I made these videos up a few years ago you may recall that uploaders were only allowed 10 minutes by YouTube so layout had to be well planned. Therefore my 18 No 1 hit songs of approx. 30 seconds equals 9 minutes plus adding my intro and outro makes the video a total of 10 minutes. There you have it. Regards Edward

  • @EdwardBayly Hi Edward, this is the best day of my life - I've just found your Hits collection! Don't ask me how I came across it - my listening was interrupted for half an hour and now I can't work it out. Never mind I'm here - and hooked. Very well done. How about doing another exercise but now do your fav 20 tracks from each year. I love the history of music from the early 50s to the present and now collect any cd that has tracks from a single year - it's fascinating to 'chart' the progress.

  • Whats that song paying at the very begging of the video

  • Hi @Tri608, The song is Floyd Cramer playing "On The Rebound" which was a No 1 hit in the UK in the early 1960's. As a pianist this was a tune I loved to [try to] play but Cramer's unique style of playing made it almost impossible to copy [lol]. [Trivia] Cramer played piano for Elvis on some of his records.Regards Edward

  • @EdwardBayly Thank you

  • I think something is wrong here, neither Paul Anka or Neil Sedaka were on here.

  • @TheJanka51 - Nothing wrong - neither had a No 1 Hit in 1959 in the UK - which is what this video is about. Regards Edward

  • @EdwardBayly Ok what ever.

  • @EdwardBayly // I think what ThaJanka means is .. Paul Anka wrote the song that Buddy Holly sang? I didn't see anyithing from Neil Sadaka pass by // Nice job though (Y)

  • Hi Edward many many thanks all the memories come flooding back when i wasa carefree 15 year old drinking coke and playing the pin ball machines in the coffee bars in Ashton under lyne how i wish i could turn the clock back thanks again.

  • Hi, When I made these videos YouTube only allowed 12 mins per video - hence I devised this format of exactly 30 secs per song [an average of 10 mins per video] allied to the relative photographs. My idea was for the viewers to not only hear just a short clip of each great No 1 song but to also view the artiste contemporarily and be whisked back to that time in their life. Thank you for looking in. Kind regards Edward

  • Would have been good to have head all the songs, but dont stop making your video`d,its just that you get into the song and it changes, you can please everyone,i like what you tried to do,i have a few videos up myself............

  • this yank says "thank ya,thank ya,thank ya"
