I first saw this movie on a big screen re-run around '75 - I was only 8 & remembered thinking "God!!! I never knew they made films like this!!!". There's something very beautiful, haunting, frightning, romantic & heroic about this film that stays with you all your life - even if you DO finally "grow up". Very fairytale like - more than all the other fantasy films - even Jason - which by the way, is right up there too. Messrs Harryhausen & co. got this spot in for '58 - 1958!!! Unbeatable.
haha I have 3 of sinbad movies I think on tape, lost like 2 xD. Yeah nothing like good old film! you know what's so great about old films? nearly no special effects! when you got someone in costume, if it's well made than it's believable, if it's 3D it loses all it's charm. Jason and the argonauts is a good old film too!
You nailed it, I almost can't figure out why, but this film sunk it's claws into me at age 10 when my dad rented it on VHS. It blew my mind, and I love it so, that I have the cyclops tattooed on my arm
@thaumusfilms I loved it the first my father got me to watch it. The scene that always stuck in my head was the fight with the skeleton. The music in that scene from Herrmann just sounds so awesome to this day.

I love this film , this music. I have Debney's take on this.
It's good but... well you know, nothing like the original.
