When i lived in my 2 acre yard in NC, a stray dog started barking inside of our yard, then we kicked him out, it being a rainy day and all. Then like 10 minutes later he started barking in our neighbors yard, so we went out there, saw him, lifted him over the neighbors fence, took him inside, and cleaned him all up. He was abandoned by his owner and dumped off on the side of the road, im pretty sure. Logan is and will be the best dog ive ever had. He's just an angel :]

i snapped up a canaan dog from the shelter, i didn't even know it was one when I got him but whenever I went to a dog park people would say oh I used to breed canaan dogs and i'd b like what? then they'd tell me mine was one. he was a stray but we think he came from a breeder who just let him and his brother go because he/ she couldn't sell them. (the one I adopted was a runt and the other was normal except he had grey on him which isn't an allowed coat color) srry i'm just bored today.

@TTerror97 If any breeder let dogs go because they "couldn't sell them", then I would hope they're not breeding anymore. Any responsible breeder would NEVER give their dogs up like that. On the flipside, that's great that you rescued! I hope you and your dog have a long, happy life together. :)

My dad breeds labs and has said that Canaans are the only other dog he'd consider owning as a family dog.

I adopted a stray Canaan when he came to my front door to bark at my cat. He was less than 6 weeks old, and his two main tricks were to bite everyone and have breath that smelled like a skunk. He is grown now, and he is a great dog. He does not have any "dog smell" people can not believe we have a dog in the house. He used to climb rock walls when we lived in the desert. He can escape from almost any enclosure, and now that we live in Alaska he goes after moose whenever he has the chance.

@theonlysasquatch Not really... depends on where SandorJohnson is from. Here in Israel you can find hundreds of Canaan dog strays. I also found a Canaan puppy stray at 4 weeks old in the bushes near my house...I searched for hours for his mother to no avail. I raised him until he was old enough to find a permanent & caring home, and I miss him everyday (months now). They have such playful and loving personalities, I can never want any dog but a Canaan from now on.

there is a breeder in napa, Cindy Grupp. We purchased both of our Canaan dogs from Donna Dodson, We flew to chicago to pick up our last one a few months ago. Canaan dogs are wonderful dogs!

That is exactly what my canaan puppy looked like when he was 10 weeks old. With the floppy years and everything. Now hes almost 50 pounds and only 8 months old!!! These dogs truley are beautiful!

Yes, Tungsten is from the Macc x Cybelle litter from Canada! Is this Joan who owned the wonderful AKC Ch Shvatim onfidence "Dylan"? If is is - then the handsome Mr T is a great grandson of Dylan!
