  • Good job, good form. No two handed bullshit like alot of videos I've seen

  • beast

  • he made it look easy...

  • BEAST MODE ! ! !

  • @Animal124Crossing Mash Monster Close, Credit Card Close, Table "No-Set"

  • how much lb resistance is the #3 coc?

  • @RealDealPhill it's about 280 pounds. judging by this, this guy can pick up a bathroom scale, squeeze it, overload it and fuck it up lol.

  • I just got my #3 today. I can regularly close a #2, have been close to closing the #2.5

What type of grip routine do you use? How often did you train it when you certified? Just trying to get an idea since I've never trained regularly for it. I use my CoC's once a week, and do pinch grip once a week. With an occasional Rolling Thunder.

  • Please tell me Yes or no that one was 300 lb handgripper

  • Habe auch eine von die Sparkasse ;)

  • I have a question. I seem to be able to close the #1 by positioning my hand further down but I cannot close it when I put all my hand in the regular position. Does it matter the position you put your hand in?

  • @dkblade27 im not sure but id be willing to bet if you posted a vid of you closing it your way people would give you shit..so just startworking your way to closing it with you entire hand on it haha

  • that is insane strength

  • It´s rigged...

  • :-)

  • Ich hab gerade meine 3er bekommen, mein Gott ist das ein Ziegelstein! Hast du jemals die Joe Kinney DVD gesehen, wie der Kerl den 4er schmilzt? Einfach unfassbar.

  • hallo, wollte fragen ob du diese dvd hast? bekommt man die auch in europa, will nicht so viel versand zahlen, hab die nämlich nur auf us seiten gefunden?!

    glg

  • NICE!

  • nice switch

  • Go on the ironmind website, idiot.

  • can ne1 tell me how to get the squeak out of the gripper and is it better to not have it?

  • @glcb7

Thats easy, spray any kind of lubricant( like WD40) in the spring, then close it a couple times to make sure it gets all worked in there. I did that to mine and it's completely silent now.

It doesnt seem to make the gripper any easier either, so don't worry about that.

  • @thedarkknight117 thanx bro i'll do that

  • Put a little WD40 or similar oil on the spring to get rid of it.

  • ironmind(dot)com

  • yo where can i buy a captain of crush grippers?

  • at any store that sells gym equipment.

  • Wrong

  • no i'm not, atleast if u are from sweden, ..

  • Oh, I see. My bad.

  • very nice

  • Congratulations, that's a feat.

  • Do you train your antagonist muscles as well? (e.g. with bands)

  • beast!!!!

  • Nice. Good grip !!

  • Excellent! are you "CoC 3" certified?

  • Thanks, yes, since march last year.

  • what's the purpose of using the card? thanks.

  • it's just a measurment of how far you are allowed to squeeze the gripper at the start officially, before gripping it completely close.

  • how do the captains of crush grippers compare to the electronic gripper reader (in kg) ?

  • Great close!!! I am posting on this older video of yours because I am working on the 3 and can close the 2.5 for 4 reps on a good day. Based on that how many reps would you say you could complete on the 2.5 the day you first closed the 3 for comparison purposes?

Looking forward to your close of the 4, later this year maybe?

  • When i closed #3 the first time, i could do around 10 reps (little wider than parallel) on the 2.5. The #4 needs more work. But maybe at the end of the year:-)

  • I have a question, my left hand grip is not as strong as my right (I guess thats normal) so would it be realistic to presume that if I just train my left hand with grippers for a while it will bring it up to speed with my right hand grip? or will my left hand always be weaker.

  • It will always be "weaker" than your right.Your grip will get stronger on the left but your right will get stronger also. Other words say you cant close #2 with left but you can with right,if you train forever your left will close #2 but your right will close #3! Just nature.

  • okay, I understand, I'll go back to training the right just as much as the left, I would'nt want to end up with one forearm bigger than the other lol, thanx for your help!

  • No, it IS possible to get them pretty darn even.

  • Since your brain prefers your dominant (right) hand, it gets more training. Not only during exercise, but also during normal daily activities.

If you want to make it (more) even, you should also train for dexterity, e.g. brushing your teeth with your left hand and such.

It's not easy, by the way.

It takes some effort and especially time for your neural system to adapt. Routine and rest is the key.

But it has some great advantages to be able to use both hands for stuff. No pun intended.

  • okay exellent! thanx for your help.

  • Actually it is also due to the construction of the grippers. In the left hand the handles have a different angle, due to the positioning of the spring ends

  • lol the chalk is so funny

  • Did you certify?

  • Yes, i did. Watch my other vids. There is a video of my certification.

  • all i am saying is the gripper should be in the same position on everyones hand. i'm sure the gripper position on nathan holles hand is different from yours, right?furthermore, not using a credit card does not make the last part of the close easier,i have a degree in physics and can assure you that.a 280 lb #3 is still going to be 280 lb at the end of the close it seems easier because of the leverage factor and to be fair everyone should have the same position for this leverage factor to occur.

  • If I don't use a credit card set I can close the #3, but I only get it past parallel if I use a credit card set. I don't have a degree in physics but I can assure you that a #3 is far easier to close when you start from parallel as opposed to a credit card set. Ask anyone who's serious about grippers. The gripper sits in your hand differently when it's set to parallel versus credit card. And hand size doesn't correlate with strength, an 8" hand won't make me close a gripper any easier.

  • evanescence2,i appreciate your comment, you have extraordinary strong hands, maybe if they were 8 inch you could possibly close a 4.what about a dwarf?they can't possibly use a credit card i personnally know a dwarf that can close a 4 but not under the credit card rule. in powerlifting the judges let marcus schick who is pound for pound the best bencher in the world use concrete blocks to put under his feet so they can touch the floor.

  • this credit card thing is ridiculous,it is an advantage for the people with large hands the rule should be,one end of the gripper on the palm of the hand and the other below the first knuckle on the four fingers.some people with smaller hands can't even position the thing to even get it started.this to me makes the whole thing invalid. anyway who was the rocket scientist that made that unfair credit card rule.i don't use captains of crush grippers or any others.this card thing is unfair period.

  • Hold on there, my hand size is below average for a man, and I can rep a #2, I still have to work hard to close a #3 but I'll get there sometime this year. My hands measure 7" from palm to middle finger tip. sumGabriel's are 8" and Teemu said in one of his videos that his hands were smaller than average yet he reps a 3.5 So before you complain about this credit card rule, consider this: When you set a gripper past the width of a credit card, it becomes easier to close.

  • Oh and the rocket scientist would be Randall J. Strossen, owner of Ironmind.

  • congrats!

  • You are a real "Captain of Crush" fore sure!!!

  • Thanks!!!

I think i will make my certification in January. I wait until i'm able to do 3 or 4 reps on #3 that it's sure that I can close it.

  • Pure power!

  • well done. congratulations.

gripboard dot com for a lot grip related training and feats.

  • very very good close! u are welcome to gripboard! its time to contact ironmind and get your certification dont u think?

  • Are you on the gripboard? that was a great close.

  • what is gripboard?

  • how tall are you and how big are your hands?

  • nice one thank you for that. I think im gonna get one anyway as I see so many vids of people closing i would like a go myself. I dont train or anything but I think a closure would be quite an achievement for me.

  • I have small hands am i at a disadvantage crushing grippers? Im tempted to buy a CoC #1

  • awesome job by the way. even better for someone as young as you are. #4 before 25? :)
